Why does it seem like our coaches are fleeing us? Especially to go to Miami where they supposedly did not like BP and his negative attitude. It seems like some of them will not even be promoted but instead will move to similar positions (I can see if everyone was being promoted).

I just wonder if there is something causing the desire to leave. Maybe Wade isn't as good to work for as we believe or they don't like Jerry, or maybe big Bill is a much better guy than we have heard.

No matter what is happening, it is frustrating to see our team rebuild the coaching staff after just 1 year

Or they realize they may be out of a job shortly if Wade decides to bring in his own people.

I hate to see some of our coaches leave but I like the fact that Wade can now bring in his people. Take a guy like secondary coach Todd Bowles I like him but how long have fans being complaining about our secondary? So now we have a chance to bring in a fresh face and hopefully someone who has worked with Phillips in the past to help improve the unit.

Does anyone know which former Wade guys are available and not locked up in contracts? It would be good to see him build his own D staff

Not sure but in the years Wade has been in the league I would think he has some connections out there that he trust. It would be interesting to hear names

Well they will be working for Sparano not BP. Pasqualoni is being promoted to DC and Bowles to Asst HC so those are promotions. I think those guys worked with Sparano for a long time and Im sure they had a bond with him.

I don't take it as a slight to Wade, Im sure those guys probably feel comfortable with Tony, plus its a rebuilding year for the Dolphins so they could be part of a great team in a few years.

Plus Im sure that Jerry no giving them a contract extension until the last possible minute didn't make them feel too welcome.

From what I can make out, most of the coaches, if not all of the coaches, who are leaving are BP guys.

Sparano would obviously leave as he is now a HC, and Bowles is now a DC.

As for Pasq and Rogers, maybe they just feel they may have better long term opportunities at Miami?

Several reasons. Bowles and Pasqualoni are likely getting promotions. Most accounts have one of them becoming Assistant Head Coach and the other Defensive Coordinator. All 3 will be working for Tony Sparano, who appears to be well liked and respected. Bowles was passed over as d-coordinator here in favor of Brian Stewart.
And as someone mentioned, they were without a contract offer here until the last moment.

If your getting a promotion you take it. No questions asked. If you can go from a linebackers coach to a defensive coorinator you do it.

Wait.....Parcells stifled the coaches...

Yet, they are flocking to Miami.

He probably stifled them into Miami.

1. They're getting major promotions (Sparano is head coach and Bowles is defensive coordinator)
2. They won't be working under Parcells as a head coach.

I feel the same way about bringing in a new face as secondary coach. This will give Phillips a chance to bring in a coach of his own choosing.

it was probably just as frustrating for wade to inherit a staff then have all of us fans whine he can't fix the D.

i don't view them leaving as bad. just because they were here and now moving on doesn't make them a good fit here still. it's the pieces coming together that's important, not the piece itself.

Other than the reasons already stated above, I think it's because Parcell's is likely to be in Miami for 3-4 years at least, and with Sparano being his guy, and it being a rebuilding situation, there is probably some latitude there... i.e. they won't be blowing it up again for the next several years. Compare that to JG getting a big raise, and the uncertainty that brings to HC position. If a promotion isn't involved, I would say it's simple job security.

You might look around the league - every team has coaches move around - especially when one guy from the staff gets a HC promotion.

I don't think it makes as much a difference as people think -- look at SD, they had coaches take jobs in Dallas as HC and DC, in SF as DC, in Cle as OC, and in Miami as HC. Yet they made it to the AFC championship game.

We are NOT being raided. Dallas is being political, and they are simply letting go of whatever remnants are left of the Parcells coaching era that got them absolutely nowhere....

None of these coaches did anything exceptional with this team...
