There are a few things I want to say about this. And I know that my comments will be interpreted by many as simply reflecting my "blind" support of Jason Garrett. I prefer to think it reflects a whole bunch of years of watching and supporting this team, and hopefully a little bit of football knowledge.

1. If this report is true it enrages me. And it has nothing to do with Garrett. It would have to do with an owner who doesn't have a clue. Wouldn't it be better, even if you are considering a change, to let the season get finished? The team has won 4 of 5, just had a huge emotional win and actually is making a bit of a run despite an overwhelming number of injuries. Show some respect.

2. Regardless of whether or not this is true, I have felt that Jones is trying to put pressure on Garrett after some early season disappointments. Fair enough. Except what Jones doesn't seem to realize is that I don't think Garrett is the type of guy who cares about that. I think he works hard and gives it his best regardless. It is only having an effect in Jerry's world.

3. If this is not true, then this is the last thing we need at this time in the season and Jones needs to come out and shoot it down in the strongest possible terms.

4. I personally believe that if it is true, it is one of the most stupid football decisions I've ever witnessed. Again, I already know how the anti-Garrett crowd will interpret my perspective, I can't help that, I'm just being honest about what I see. I am among those who DO think the culture is changing in Dallas (I think yesterday was an evidence of it).

If Jones fires Garrett this season, I would love to see him be a Belichick type coach for another franchise. Wouldn't it be a kick in the b**** if it was with the eagles.

I agree with every bit of your post. I feel the coaching search report is inaccurate. I of course have no way of telling if it is true or not, but anything is possible with Jerry running the show.

There will be many teams looking for a new coach, I'm glad Jerry is putting his toe in the water. He will likely make a move as soon as we are out of the race. I thought it was odd when the Saints said they were going to the league to complain, now it makes sense.

JG lost me when we beat the gmen and then flopped like fish out of water for weeks after. This staff doesn't fit together and will not succeed.

I want a coach that will tell Jerry who to draft, and when to speak.:laugh2:

How can you fire a coach when the team has suffered this many injuries and still competed for a division title? Honestly this team has no business winning 7 games with this many injuries.

I understand making some coaching changes. Particularly on the defensive side of things.

With a senile Jerry, anything is possible.

I agree, plus they have never quit on him,
and he has shown some real leadership here in the Brent situation.

With Wade the team more or less quit on him. It got to a point where Jerry had no other option. But since early this year when we played bad against Chicago and Seattle. Even in our losses we've played well enough to be able tow win those games. Just couldn't get things to go right in the losses. We were literally about an inch away from sweeping the Giants. Just missed on a FG to beat the Ravens. We could easily be looking at a dominant lead in the division right now if a couple things went right in those two games. But we are basically in a position to win out and win the division even though we've had all these injuries. And even if we don't win another game we have had a solid season considering these injuries. It's one thing to lose these players before the season or early in the season and be able to find guys to step up. But these injuries have happened just about every week. Seems like it's a new guy every week we say is going on the IR.

This post im sorry but its a bunch of bull. First and foremost if this story is true Jerry is just in the midset of 99% of the sports world thinking this coach has run his course.

And fault Jerry for doing his homework and see whos interested? really? And lets not forget it wasnt Jerry who leaked this.

And if Jerry is looking for a new coach and is interested in Payton. How is that a bad thing?

How is the culture changing? Because a player died and the team won a game and they gave a few hugs after the game? That ridiculous. The culture that should matter to fans is the same. The same pathetic mental errors that have plagued this team.

Jerry may or may not be throwing his line in the water, I do not know. I am going to stay out of the fire Garrett mode for this week, also not going to go as far as say I am happy with him. This was an emotional weekend for the team.

One thing I am certain about is.....neither Jerry nor Payton has come out in the last few weeks and denied all rumors. Jerry has not said Garrett is safe, he seems to be avoiding the issue lately. Payton could say he is returning to NO, but he remains quiet. It might be for leverage, it may be a wait and see approach to a vacancy in big D.

If Jerry was 100% confident in Garrett's abilities as a HC, he would have been in his corner by now, IMO.

Agreed Jerry is quick to back a HC. But he's been quiet. Thats telling based on Jerrys history

Remember fans protested outside of the stadium 2 years ago to get Kubiak fired who was worse than Garrett at the time. Owner stuck with him and look how it's paid off. Only morons change every 2-3 years. Especially when you're above 500.

One could argue that this report is true, but not for a new head coach but rather a new Defensive Coordinator. Yes i know about all the injuries, but Ryan still hasn't impressed me when we did have starters and the dude really cant keep his mouth shut. got us an un sportmans like penalty yesterday that could of cost us the game.

Yeah. I'm not too terribly impressed with Ryan, but the brunt of the injuries have been on his side of the ball.

At the beginning of the year, when we were actually healthy, we had one of the best defenses in the league if I remember right.

Having credibility with you or anyone else on an internet forum ranks near the very bottom of my priorities in life.

I think sadly, a lot of Garrett's faults are going to be masked by the injuries. The injures will be the scapegoat for not making the playoffs, when there were a couple of game left on the field due to poor decisions by the head football coach. He won't be fired, but he needs to get his crap together if he is going to last after next year.
