Coaching isn’t what’s going to put us over the hump

There’s just no way we can match up against teams with more Elite QB’s and better offenses and or defenses and expect to come out on top.

Our culture just isn’t conducive to success. The only exception was in 1995 when we had by far the best talent to overcome our toxIc culture . And it wasn’t enough in 1994.

Disagree just a bit Gregory. Jimmy in his prime would get this squad to or closer to a super bowl. JMHO as I have no way of knowing for certain.

Well now you have a QB that’s cap number will crush the surrounding talent.

That’s why you don’t pay solid QBs like they’re elite. Cowboys fans and management never learn.
But he isn’t the only one . We have a RB and DE which is similar symptoms . Paid elite but not producing elite. At least not on the biggest stages.

There’s more blame to go around . But if our fans think a good coach is going to uplift less than Elite talent on these key positions in our toxic culture , it’s a pipe dream.

But that was a different culture. Jimmy had full football control. No one has since . And the culture has suffered.

And he had the most talented team in the league.
Talent talent talent. Did I say talent Don :)

because we've done so well before Dak crushing contract.
This isn’t just about Dak. Romo wasn’t elite enough either nor was his supporting cast.

Talent is the only answer to overcome dysfunction.

That’s assuming you want more than what we’ve had this era.

I disagree. Coaches are in charge of conditioning, discipline, scheme, motivation, and the technical aspects of the position. "If" they do their jobs and if "talent/health" is equal to what we had, we can definitely get over the hump. Most of our problems were self-inflicted, I'm willing to give the staff a chance to fix that :)

Boarding the Doom and gloom train in January seems to be a bit of an overreaction

Talent is our best hope overcoming our dysfunctional and toxic organization.

And the best talent at the key positions , top offense and defense .

The closer we are to having the most Elite QB, best offense and defense the closer we will be to returning to a Super Bowl.

You need talent but you also need coaching.

Coaching directs and positions talent, and places leadership and confidence within the team.

- The arrival and improvement of Dan Quinn vs Mike Nolan alone, shows what a difference making proper coaching can make.
Plan, discipline, positioning, techniques, scheme, a difference between disguising complex while making it simplified enough for players to grasp on and
be allowed to play fast.

And it goes both ways on both sides of the ball. - even special teams.

- Bones Fassel became a better, more effective special teams coach once he was directed to be more fundamental than high circus antic.

- Despite his SB resume, I'm not the biggest McCarthy fan when it comes to Discipline, game management decisions, adjusting in game on the run.
and having his team most prepared and motivated.

Its a reason why we led the NFL in penalties, and i don't think the penalty issues is gonna be resolved with a HC that doesn't even tack his players to detour away from blaming refs.in the media.

it takes talent to win, but talent alone can't do it. you need the right coaching, right scheme and right game day managers (play callers, etc.) to get over the hump. and if jerry insists on meddling everywhere, then it will fall apart regardless of the talent.

and having that much talent will cost money, unless you hit on every draft pick, almost every round for several years in a row. next to impossible.

now, think back to Parcells, when he took a bunch of nobody's to 10-6, win the division and go to playoffs. they did fall short in the playoffs but that team had zero talent. you need some talent, but with the right coaching you can get over the hump.
