Agree, uncooked and we still play Plan A. Schotty must have learnt that Dak is not a comeback QB, especially when we struggle to stop the run.
The 4th and 1 was the worst Strategic play....we have to be more adventurous (and aggressive) early on, to offset our inability (still) to stop the run and putting Dak in an uncomfortable situation.

I think for me this loss sucks because it was Garrett 2.0. The punt on 4th and inches is such a Garrett move. I was having flashbacks. Schotty was starting to win me over but this loss sent him back a few notches. We came out flatter than a preseason game and seemed uninterested. We came out with more intensity for the preseason game against the Cardinals.

Coaching definitely matters and we can talk about Dak, Micah, Romo and all the other things we have tonight in all the other threads but the reality is when Jimmy walked out that door we are 2 Neil O’Donnell interceptions away from never winning a Super Bowl since ‘93.

Less talented at the QB, WR CB and DT positions aka most of the GLAMOR positions.

DE - Giants are better
LB - Giants are better
S - Talent wise a toss up but Giants were better tonight
OL - Giants are better with Tyler Smith out.
RB - Giants are better
TE - Giants are better

Cowboys media focuses on the flashy. Giants have a team that has a strategy for how they want to move the ball and stop you. The Cowboys want to just throw it to the two big WRs and think that’ll be enough. Giants operate efficiently.

He is a good coach. Whether or not he's going to be a good DC remains to be seen. He had a really embarrassing game. There were no in-game defensive adjustments and his unit couldn't make a stop. The Giants were 10 of 11 on 3rd down. Either he doesn't know how to make adjustments in-game or just doesn't know what adjustments to make. Either way, it's concerning.

It is when you haven’t had one for years. Talk was Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark were going to improve everything around them by shutting down the run single-handedly. And Williams did cause a fumble.

But it takes more than 2 players to stop the run.
 
Players looked like they were guessing on defense. Clearly Parker isn't getting the message thru.

Both are considered top players at their DT position. They were disappointing last night. Both trenches. We got out muscled. Very surprising

Schottenheiner is just glad to have a job himself. He needs Jerry's permission to do anything like that and he won't get it.
 
Let's see: Jon Harbaugh vs. Brian Schottenheimer. Yeah, who could have predicted we'd lose the coaching battle?
 
Does it take several weeks for in game adjustments? Facing the first of many running qbs. No spy when it clearly looks to be part of the gameplan. Giving 10 yard cushions for the opposing wrs. I thought younger typically is more innovative but I haven’t seen that at the moment. Did like that they were hitting but that really is only sustainable for so long. CP gets some grace but I’m going to be extremely nervous if game 2 is a reflection of game one. We have the look of the worst defense again in the nfl. In history has a team done it twice?
 
I've been suspect about schottys offense. He's not a good oc and 7 points in the 1st half proves it.

CP had some hiccups I was worried about. He took away neighbors but left the RB open on the flat back to back to back and gave up an easy TD. He's never called plays and it showed.

If this isn’t an indictment of JJ, that none of these coaches have even had a cup of coffee in the league since coaching here other than McCarthy.
 
I've been saying this for years and sadly might continue to. Cowboys have prestige, it's differently here. Players think they "made it" as soon as they put that helmet on. That's when the pressure should actually start, discipline and structure. Two great coaches in DC history were both disciplinarians and thrived on structure. They couldn't care less if you made America's team or not, if you messed up you're gone. Would Jimmy have tolerated last night? This week would be hell to pay.
