I totally am in line with your first paragraph. Jerry’s ultimately responsible and bare all the blame. As for the 2nd paragraph, I hope you’re wrong.
I believe we all hope for that, but that Charles Haley type of player isn't wearing a Cowboys uniform. Some might claim Dak is that way. I would respond by telling them go back and research all of Dak's comments since the beginning of OTA's - he is/was 100% focused on money and nothing more. It isn't necessarily wrong of him to be that way, it is his job after all and he deserves a pay check just like the rest of us. But it rubs fans the wrong way, especially when it appears that getting the giant bag of cash was more important than winning.

We are handicapped by the contract of our QB. We are paying a Gardner Mineshew talent 60m a year when we could have similair results paying him actually 2 years at 25M and devote cap resources elsewhere.
CD Lamb was a bad resign imo and we should have traded him for multiple picks in a WR heavy draft, now we are strapped by his contract also.
Offensive play calling is poor. How many times do we need to see Zeke go out for a screen pass or a pass in the flats that's essentially a negative play? Our fastest and most elusive guys on the roster are not given these opportunities but old man Zeke is.

What should we have done instead? IMO grab Carr or Mayfield in FA (not just this year but when they were actually free agents), trade CD for draft capital, and spend in FA. Instead we are stuck in this mantra of we have to resign our guys cause we drafted them.

At the end of the day its simple.

"Jerry likes being comfortable" and "We like our Guys"

I’m not giving up like 95% of the posters here who have a history of quitting after the first series of the first preseason game. I think the issues can be corrected with coaching and the players giving a damn. Someone will need to instill in both to give a damn.
Lol first of all, you have a history of quitting. Second, you think the issues with coaching can be fixed, how so? Zimmer wasn't coaching the last two seasons for a reason. The players giving a damn? Idc how much Zeke, Tank, the linebackers, Dak, etc care. It's not gonna make them better or rurn back time. They are what they are at this point

How many times did we see them try and run Deuce up the middle? He’s 5’6” 176lbs? Just wasted series.
I don't think any back was getting much, longest run was 8 yards. But yeah need to find a way to get Vaughn in space rather than just up the gut.

Just got done listening to Zimmer....Baltimore gonna kill us  All Dallas coaches have the same company slogan....NewOrleans was good... We have to do a better job....NO ####
You mean the geriatric coach who was ran out of the league isn’t the answer? I’m shocked.

Hey, you gave up on the Cowboys several years ago. Ever since you’ve been here. So now you’re quitting again so what’s new? Keep hating on the Cowboys. It’s what you do with everyone of your posts. Hate on hater.

Don’t get me wrong, Jerry is ultimately responsible with his lush “The Star” practice facility. The 68 degree weather in training camp and his coddling of players he likes. But having said all that, both MM and MZ laid an egg against the Saints. They knew before coming HC and DC how Jerry runs things. Especially MZ. If they aren’t capable of dealing with that, then they should’ve never accepted the job. This team was not mentally ready to play on either defense or offense. Now I don’t know if MM is butt hurt about not having an extension, but come on man, get the team ready! MM and MZ really hosed this game up.

Both MM and MZ both got totally out coached. Micah was totally coach out of the game. The offense again, had no running game. How many penalties stopped offensive drives and defensive stands? They had the team totally unprepared for both offensive and defensive schemes they are both familiar with and they came out with that?

There’s some problems with personnel as well. If you’re not going to come out balls to the walls like Overshown, and 2 or 3 others then you don’t need to be in the NFL. You’re paid tons of money to give it 100% 100% of the time.

I want to see an Charles Haley type episode or I’m really worried about the season.
After Jerry provides them w/ talented DT's and RB's.

I think MM will buckle down knowing his job is on the line and give it his all for the rest of the season. Then, the players need to step up as well and instead of giving 75% how about giving 100%.
I love a good faerie tale.

Everything and everyone needs to improve except Dak
Only chance Dak has to improve is for there to be an elite offensive mind to propel him. He isn’t good enough to do it alone. And MM isn’t good enough either

I don't know what it is but seems like our run scheme is totally ineffective then you add in not addressing the RB situation in FA or the draft and it just seems like we cant get it going on the ground. We need to find a way to run the ball if we are going to have any success.
It's doesn't help to start off the season against Cleveland, New Orleans and Baltimore. Nobody else is running on them to this point.

That's not me thinking our running game is good either. It's just probably not as bad as it's looked so far.

That was a lot of why I didn't mind if we moved on. We appeared to not be willing to do what he needs to win. Other side of the coin was I doubted wed use his cap savings aggressively anyway. It feels like a no win situation with this FO.
