The raiders kept 8 in the box and dared us to pass the ball. What does parcels do? run right, run left and middle. Raiders torched for 300+ yards in the air. what does parcels do? RUN the freak'in ball. THis is not the giants of the 80's the game has changed. Either change with the times or get out! The O-line can not block a 8 man front, Pass the damn ball!

Don't tell me payton called those running plays that was vintage parcells. He refuses to make changes and it is killing us! GOD! forbid we open up the offense and actually destroy someone. Not parcells football. there are too many chances to make a turnover for his liking.

The defense is continually held up at the line of scrimmage. by the time we reach the qb he has allday to find someone.THe 3-4 is ineffective, we drop into a zone and are picked apart in front of the lb's or beaten deep when we send more than 4. It was parcells decision to not bring in a proven free safety. Might i remind you" if your going to cook, you should be able to buy the groceries" HOWS that big plate of keith davis tasting there coach?

Sorry for the seemingly hateful rant, but it is what it is. As long as parcells plays the ball control run first and run often theme, teams will continue to run blitz and stifle our run game. PLEASE coach let drew throw the damn BAll!!!!!

Not much wrong with the rant.

We all understand the importance of balance in the O game plan, but when Parcells has one of his guys at QB, against the worst pass-D in the league and the Cowboys only put the ball up 26 times, something is wrong. Yes I remember the 5 sacks, but this unwillingness to exploit a team's weakness is inexcusable.

You go at a team's weakness until they prove they can stop it.

One thing is he spoke of in his press conference was Big Bill said he wanted to give the defense a rest long enough to establish a long drive(keep Moss & Co) off the field. The strategy would be good if the run game was successful.

Dude you hit the nail on the head, BP is obviously stuck in the '80's and too stuborn to change, he probably does'nt think that you can set up the run by passing the ball. He claims that he's not too ol school, but I find it hard to believe!!!

a few things to add...

Collins threw 13-23 for 218 yards. Not 300+.

Why can't Bill teach Ware how to line up right. 3 offsides penalties for Ware today. I coach 8th grade football and i tell the kids "watch the ball, the qb isnt saying anything to u" DeMarcus actually wiped out a sack by Glover in the 4th quarter...

and why did we hold 13 straight teams without a 100 yard rusher yet give up 100+ to Jordan who has 3 career hundred yard games in his pocket??

Parcells' strategy was to shorten the game, giving Oakland's pass offense fewer chances against us. That part worked. They had only nine possessions and scored only 19 points despite making big plays in the passing game and having their best running game yet. And we had our chances to win. If Keyshawn hadn't drifted toward the line of scrimmage, his touchdown catch would have counted. Instead, it got called back, and we had to settle for a field goal. If his TD had counted, a field goal would have won it at the end. And we still had our chances to win it with a touchdown. Plus, it's not like the passing game worked very often.

Yes he did, exact same move. You would think a player with his experience wouldn't make that mistake more than once in a season.

This anti parcellism wont get much air time around here but the truth sometimes is a tough pill to swallow.

Playcalling sucked but we didnt execute either, its a double edge sword.

Yep. Funny thing about game plans isnt it. Had the Raiders lost, they'd wanna be hanging Turner right now.

"How can you only pass 23 times against that team.. hadnt you seen the number of long passes they gave up... their safeties suck. Moss should've been way more involved!"

"Why the hell did you keep trying to run the ball.. that D held LT and Portis in check but yet you think you can run with Jordan??"

The coach's job is to put the players in a position to win. I believe the ball on the 4 yardline with 2nd down and 4yds to go is just that. Players have to perform. 3rd and 4th down was all on the players. Bledsoe just did not connect.

Now to go back to the coaches I believe Coach Parcells did say the law of averages would catch up. When you play in close games like that you're going to lose some.

It was a hard fought game and the plays were not made in the end to win the game. People act like if we got out played. This is a talented team( Raiders) who had their backs to the wall. They were playing for their season on the line yet could have been beaten at the end. Defense showed up especially in the secondary. Moss's yards came on one play(79).

But like in everything shut down one aspect and you open another(the run game). Keep the safties back for pass plays.

The team is playing ok; they are in position to win every game; but come up short twice. Alot more football to be played. The team needs to gel together that takes time.

I still think the two biggest mistakes were inserting Barber on those 3rd and shorts. Either keep the guy who seemed to be having the most success running the ball(Tyson), put in A-Train like he was hired to be the short yardage runner, or put Julius back. Why oh why throw Barber in there? Both of those go for field goals, when if we had anyone but Barber, they may have been eventual touchdowns.

We reverted on offense yesterday. The good news is the defense seems to be getting better. The coaching on the offensive side of the ball seemed to stink yesterday. And the offensive line play probably just magnified the latter.

I think Dallas stayed with the run too long and should have looked at going 3 WR set earlier in the game. They still could have used draws to help keep the Raiders from teeing off but the power running game was just not there.

Good points all. Mistakes by a couple of guys who may be two of the three MVP's of the season so far (Keyshawn, and Bledsoe for not finding Witten at the end) cost us 11 points in a game we lost by 6.
