Cole Beasley to have Breakout Season

Agree with others: even some rudimentary analysis of the numbers would help your argument. Simple stuff like:

Targets, games 1-11: 23 (2 per game)
Targets, games 12-16: 26 (5 per game)
If we project the numbers from the last 5 weeks over a full season, we'd be looking at a 60-catch, 675-yard year. Is that a breakout? I suppose so. I would guesss that that's the high end of what to expect.

Love Beasley but there are only so many touches to go around. BTW Dooley has been raving about the off season T Williams had FWIW.

*Looks in @Frozen700 's general direction*

Beasley broke out last year, in my opinion.

This. There's no more breaking out. He's a fun, gifted but limited player. Is he due to progress in knowing the offense? No he already knew his assignments. Is he going to suddenly get faster...stronger.....bigger? No, no and no.

I just hope he doesn't get broken. I fear some linebacker is going to break the kid's collarbone, rib or hip rolling over up on him.

Welker is nothing more than a "fun, gifted but limited player" heck so is Edelman in NE and he was just an essential part of a championship team. You do not have to be extremely talented to play Beasely's role in this offense. He isn't going to be running deep routes or having to fight off double teams.

Escobar's primary competition for receiving opportunities is Beasley. They can't both be on the field unless it is an empty backfield or Witten is off the field.

That's where I would envision Escobar getting his opps (replacing Witten). But yeah, Escobar won't likely see the opps without Witten off the field.

"Cole Beasley Is Most Underrated Offensive Player For Dallas Cowboys"

He broke out last year. Don't know how underrated he is now to defenses or to us fans.

Underrated considering hes buried behind Dez, Williams, Witten, and the run game. That was what i meant

I don't expect huge numbers ever for him in this offense.

I'd like to see around 50 catches and 6TD's.

Witten is more of a leader and blocker than a receiver at this point. He will get his catches but he has clearly lost a step. I hope Escobar can be that "beast receiving tight end" a short passing game will need.
You serious, Clark?

I love Witten as much as anyone on this board, I just feel his better days are behind him as a receiver. Last season, he was more of a blocker; Beasely was getting a lot of those looks down the stretch that we have accustomed to Witten getting. The leadership Witten provides to this team is invaluable and he will still get his catches but it would be nice if Escobar emerged as the redzone/short yardage mismatch like his other athletic tight end counterparts throughout the NFL.

Beasley already had a breakout season last year. And he's probably hit his ceiling already with his physical limitations. Some want him to catch 100 passes this year but I don't want him taking targets from Dez. 50 catches 600 yards 5 TD'S is where I set the bar for Beasley as our #3.

Beasley is really good. Romo really trusts him, he's quick, runs precise routs and has great hands. Definitely agree that he's more featured and has a breakout season.

I think he had a very good season but him and Romo seemed to click a lot more over the 2nd half of the season. I think Romo comfort with Beasley will results in more opportunities for Beasley. He is able to get open quickly and has very good hands.

Well, perhaps you are correct. Even the best decline with the passing of the years. and, yes, Escobar half been in his shadow and I'd like to see what the lad can do.
