Cole Beasley

He drew double coverage in 2017 which should have opened things up for Dez.

It is quite impressive when the slot-WR draws bracket coverage.
that's because dc's are longer concerned with dez. he's not even good at being a decoy any longer.

Not sure what happened last year but you aren't finding another guy with his talent easily. We don't need another SL. Beasley isn't going anywhere;

We need a X or a X/Z. It appears many here just wrap up wrs into one basket and you can't do that. Some WRs are versatile enough to play anywhere but most aren't.

You need to look for a X first then maybe a X/Z. We can change our offense a tad and make it easier but you still need a real X.

Nope DC's are not worried about Dak because they can let the receivers come open on the deep routs and he can not get the ball to them that is the real problem

He only has 1 year left and Switzer has made him expendable

I think it's premature to say Switzer's performance makes Beasley expendable.
Switzer hasn't proven much yet, mostly due to a lack of opportunity and experience.
In 2017:
Beasley had 36 rec 314 yds, 4 TDs.
Switzer had 6 rec 41 yds, 0 TDs.
That's not much of a comparison.

Exactly, and in 2016 Cole was a beast. I don't think the Bease is going anywhere. I like what we've seen of Switzer so
far, but it's going to take more than that to unseat Beasley. I think there's room on the team for both players. Certainly for now at least.

It is a tough business

You only get 46 spots on game day and 53 all year....gotta make tough choices

if two guys are pretty equal you take younger and cheaper

Perhaps, but the key word there is "IF". I'm not convinced at this point that Switzer has shown himself to be "pretty equal".
That's not to say he won't eventually, but I don't believe he's shown that to be the case yet.
In 2016 when Dak and the OL were performing better, Beasley was a beast, and he still has that ability.
Switzer has not exhibited beast mode yet.

Switzer has more talent then Beasley. Not only that Switzer can line up outside. Problem is our coaches can't figure out how to use their talent. A coach like Belichek could make Beasley and Switzer a lethal combo.

That being said Beasley is expendable. Dez isn't going anywhere, neither is Williams. We need to revamp the receivers and trading Beasley now and getting something for him is better then letting him walk next off-season.

It's funny guys complain that Dallas doesn't trade players like the eagles etc. but when some fans talk about trading a player they complain why we want to trade him.
