I don't remember people hating Romo. He had some bad games but overall I think Cowboys fans liked Romo. Maybe Cowherd should look in the mirror.
Actually the blowback the overall talk was the same as it is with Prescott I didn't think it could ever get that bad but now with Prescott it's just as bad or worse but yeah I don't know how you don't remember it I mean the old Cowboys forum on their official website we have the same conversations about Romo that we're having about Prescott the debates the hate versus Homer I mean the whole thing I mean it's almost a mirror image...

Colin Cowherd is not the only professional sports talking head who should be looking into a mirror. And they should be doing it for much more than simply Tony Romo and Dak Prescott.

  • He never won a div round playoff game
  • He showed up to training camp fat and out of shape (he was lazy and entitled since Jerry adopted him) the 2nd half of his career
  • His pitiful woe is me press “meritocracy” conference after Dak took his job
  • The 44-6 game against the Eagles, win and you’re in game, which is the most gutless performance of a Cowboys QB I’ve ever seen but I only started watching games in 1972.
  • Never has a Dallas athlete been so heralded after achieving so little in a decade long career

I’ve liked every Cowboys starting QB. Why wouldn’t I?

Romo had to do too much.

I remember for years if he went out the entire thing fell apart.

Garrett hire was beyond awful.

....Romo turned out to be a very good QB, late in his career.

By that time, he was physically broken. But was able to read defenses well.

Its sad career story for him. Should have won at least one ring.

What rule change?
NFL Rule 2, The Ball, Section 2, Supply (link):

Each team will make 12 primary and 12 backup balls available for testing by the Referee no later than two hours and 15 minutes
prior to the starting time of the game to meet League requirements. For all games, six new footballs, sealed in a special box and
shipped by the manufacturer to the officiating crew, will be opened in the officials’ locker room two hours and 45 minutes prior to
the starting time of the game. These balls are to be specially marked by the manufacturer and used exclusively for the kicking
game.
In the event a team ball does not conform to specifications, or its supply is exhausted, the Referee shall secure a proper ball from
the opposing team and, failing that, use the best available ball. Any such circumstances must be reported to the Commissioner.
In case of rain or a wet, muddy, or slippery field, a playable ball shall be used at the request of the offensive team’s center.
The game clock shall not stop for such action (unless undue delay occurs)

Romo could have achieved great things, but he bought into Garrett's pass happy, undisciplined offense and he wasted years and hundreds of millions of dollars in talent with his pass happy ways.
Garrett was to blame, but so was Romo. Both were naive and too busy kissing Jerry’s feet so that they could pretend to be great and milk the cash cow, that they ignored the potential they had to actually be winners.
Before Garrett left he saddled Cowboys fans with another disciple that would ensure that the Cowboys would continue pretending to be great and wallowing in mediocrity for years to come.

I liked Romo but he lost it and got that deer in the headlights look in big games. Although he seemed to settle down late in his career where he handled the pressure much better. He was great at times though, but remember a lot of teammate comments though the years that indicated they didn’t personally like him. I thought that Giants playoff game that He really put things together, and could have won a Super Bowl but injuries got him.

The guys who hate Romo and Dak....it's the gutter of the fan base. Casual fans.
That includes others....like zeke and trey.

The only cowboy i found myself....not "liking" was jaylon smith. Watching him hobble around and celebrating tagging an already tackled player....drove me nuts.

Guys are gonna dislike guys. But when you don’t have a valid reason for it it’s just hate…..to me anyway. Trey ain’t been here long enough to get hate lol.

In 2015 we were 3-1 with Romo.

In 2015 we were 1-11 without Romo.

He’s the best QB we’ve had since Aikman, but that’s not saying much either.
Romo was certainly fallible. However, when you go down and your team can only manage one more win out of the remaining 12 games, maybe that lends some credibility to the argument that the guy was not surrounded by a whole lot of talent. Contrast that to when Dak got injured and Cooper Rush came in and the Cowboys won 4 out of the 5 games he played in - the one loss coming at the expense of the Eagles, who just happened to represent the NFC that year in the Super Bowl. Good teams still find ways to win games even when a star player goes down.
