Nobody overvalues average players like Cowboys fans. For instance, Drew Henson, Julius Jones, Randal Williams and Alan Ball were all going to be stars at one time or another according to this board. For whatever reason, there is a widespread mindset within this fanbase which rewards mediocrity and singular plays with legendary praise.

I don't think anybody has gone that far. They just like what they've seen so far and hope he gets a fair shake in his attempt to put the Cowboys back on top.
