Just more garbage teams get in that way.I wouldn't be against 8 if I trusted them at all but reality is we may need 12 teams just to get the 8 best represented.

Yup just make it large enough to where imperfect doesn't matter and we represent a good portion of the country. We had someone earlier complaining that Cincy made it, saying it should've been Notre Dame.
Even though Cincy beat them.
I agree, just get us to 8 or 12
Stop posting silly things.those whining about whether border line teams should make the playoffs are STUPID.
The PURPOSE of the Playoffs is to see to is as much as possible that the TOP TWO TEAMS play for the championship. Is anyone here claiming ANY of these other teams should be playing in the Championship?
This aint the NFL but then again you are pretty dense.Stop posting silly things.
This isn't 1954 anymore Fonzie.
The point of a playoff is to create entertainment and crown a true champion.
Not award a beauty contest trophy based on eye tests.
Bama was very mediocre much of this year.
Both Bama and Georgia lost games by double digits.
There is no requirement to be perfect now and in the 7 years of the CFP the 4th seed has won twice.
CFP is insane money and presents a lot more quality football.
Imagine the NFL just sending 4 teams to the playoffs......
You've obviously had your head buried in the sand the last 20 years. Or you live in some state that gets about as much varied TV coverage as Fallujah but NCAA Football is Big Business. Kids are getting over a million each to sign now. Schools are opting out of 3 and 4 M pay days for Bowl games. It's playoff or bust for many teams. This aint the NFL but then again you are pretty dense.
And no surprise you bleat about money. No surprise at all.
The two teams playing for the championship are the best this season; only fools say otherwise.
A true champion is one that has shown that trait the WHOLE season. Not some team that gets hot for four or five games but was NOTHING before. That is your standard and its pretty pathetic.
For money grubbing goombahs sure. You have certainly defined that. Go ahead and worship your money shrine. Just do not expect everyone to bow down. You've obviously had your head buried in the sand the last 20 years. Thats because they are for profit institutions making business decisions.
Media partners want expanded playoffs because those games hold insane value.
Games that determined or possibly determined playoff participants drew an average of 6M eyeballs... that is insanely high viewership for NCAAF.
And it was high for AAC and all other leagues who had a hat in the ring that final week or 2.
So EVERYONE benefits from playoff expansion. More money, more quality football, a true champion and a tourney that represents the entire country.
The dunces arguing against an expanded playoff are doing so based on exactly zero other than a misguided sense of history to a game that has changed yearly for about a decade now.
You have to go back to middle school level football to see anyone playing it with a regular season and only a 1-2 game playoff to name a champion.
It's literally insane to operate in that manner.
