A&M got smoked.
But that's right, SEC teams can't stop the spread:)

Loving miss state this year. I always root against lsu and bamma. Get tired of seeing those teams all the time.

Pathetic coaching UCLA vs Utah. What the heck. Gave them free releases and the sidelines over and over. Now a penalty. 50 yards allowed in 20 seconds with no timeouts. They're lucky they missed that field goal because ***.

It absolutely kills me watching Texas play. I know their OL is young and inexperienced, but they did a very good job yesterday of both run and pass blocking. The defense played out of its mind for most of the game. However, the QB play was the #1 factor in the Horns demise. Swoopes has an absolute cannon of an arm, few are stronger. However, he has no touch or finesse to his passing game. He does not have the ability to put it on the receiver in stride. The ball is either very high, very low, or behind the receiver. He gives his receivers almost zero chance for YAC. Also, when he runs the ball, he runs like he is wearing cement shoes. He is a clodder, not a thoroughbred. But, I will say this, one thing that helps him is the hurry up offense, which Texas refused to use yesterday, because they wanted to keep the Baylor offense off the field, understandably.

With all the upsets that occurred yesterday, if Texas could have had a QB who could hit an open WR with consistency, Texas pulls the upset. The Baylor D was good, but not as good as the announcers said. They were aided a whole heck of a lot by the horribly, bad play of Swoopes.

The reason there were so many fake-upsets yesterday is because the of the idiots who do the voting. All they do is rely on a team's reputation when casting their votes. Alabama is clearly rebuilding, there is no way in the world they deserved their #2/#3 ranking. Texas A&M had what people thought was an impressive victory over #9 South Carolina, but really South Carolina stinks and A&M's victory over them made the voters think they were better than they really were. UCLA barely scraped by their first 3 mediocre opponents, there's no way they deserved to be #8 in the nation. You could argue the 2 teams in Mississippi are the 2 best in football this year, but because of reputation and history they started off way lower than deserved and have to work their way up.

The "upsets" weren't as big as the media is trying to make them out to be. Alabama was only a 4 point favorite, Oklahoma was only 5 and Texas A&M was an underdog by kickoff. The only result this weekend that truly surprised me was Arizona over Oregon on Thursday.

I mild upset, Florida over Tennesse. But wow, that crowd of 102,485 all chanting "F you Florida" so LOUD at the end was just ridiculous. Are we as a society really getting that lowbrow and crass and degenerated that something like that can happen? I'm so glad that I don't have children and having had them hear such vile claptrap.

There was vile stuff like that shouted in days long gone by. There just wasn't HD TV and other technologies to capture it all.

Some very good games coming up between the remaining undefeated teams. #2 Auburn plays #3 Mississippi State next week, Auburn vs #4 Ole Miss on November 1st, and Ole Miss and Mississippi State close out the regular season against each other. Those games should clear up the SEC situation (not to mention, Alabama still plays Auburn and Mississippi State).

#1 Florida State plays #6 Notre Dame in two weeks. That's really Florida State's only test of the remainder of the season. Notre Dame still plays #20 Arizona State and USC.

#5 Baylor plays #9 TCU next week. Baylor still plays #11 Oklahoma, #16 Oklahoma State, and #17 Kansas State. TCU still plays Oklahoma State and Kansas State. So the Big 12 could be decided next week (but Oklahoma vs Baylor will probably be the real decider).

Then you have the surprising #10 Arizona who still play USC, #18 UCLA, #24 Utah, #20 Arizona State, and (my current school) Washington. The Pac 12 is surprisingly weak this year. USC and Stanford are probably out of it with two losses each. I still think it's Oregon's to lose.

All in all, it'll be interesting to see which four teams make the playoffs this year. The only way I see a Pac 12 team making it is if Oregon wins out. I don't see anyone else getting the nod. I think the winner of the Florida State vs Notre Dame game probably runs the table. I also think the winner of the Baylor vs Oklahoma game can make the playoffs if they finish with 1 or fewer losses. The SEC will definitely have a team, and most likely 2 if the things I mentioned don't happen.

I don't see any 1-loss Big 12 team making it. If the Big 12 wants to be represented they'll have to have someone go undefeated. If everyone in the Big 12 loses 1, that could make the selection committee's job very easy.

I can see Oklahoma possibly make it if they beat Baylor, run the table, and look impressive in every game. If Baylor doesn't finish undefeated, I don't see them making it.

How do you feel about any Pac 12 team besides Oregon? I think the only other teams that would have had a chance to get a vote have already lost twice (Stanford and USC).

I think the Pac-12 is widely seen as the 2nd best conference in the nation so a 1-loss conference champion has a great chance of being in the playoffs.
