Sticky: ***College Game Thread For Season***

FSU is undefeated and won its conference, It will go in. Washington and Michigan are also given.
Its the fourth team that will be interesting. They do not like rematches so that leaves out OSU; they also tend to NOW take head to head as important so that gives Texas the edge over Alabama.
Georgia is out as they just lost and while TCU made it last year under that condition it took some upsets for that to happen. I think Texas is the fourth but it could be Alabama
Looking at past records, it seems strength of schedule only kills the tiny schools. Didn't even affect TCU last year. So yes, I have to believe FSU, Washington and Michigan are no brainers since they are undefeated.

And yes, fourth team is going to piss off a lot of people. LOL Someone loses. I'm guessing Texas and Alabama first choice, and Georgia and Ohio State second since they just lost, and always seems to affect a team's ranking more right after the loss.

I think Texas should get in just because they beat Alabama.

No matter who they pick, they are going to upset a lot of people, and if any of the teams they pick get blown out in the playoffs, it's really going to cause an uproar with supporters of the excluded teams.

Alabama is done, Texas will get in over them. Maybe if it was a small-school like TCU last year then Alabama would get the edge but the committee won't have any issues putting in Texas over them. FSU is in...their offense may be terrible with their backup QBs but that defense is legit. They made a Louisville offense that was supposed to be pretty good look silly tonight.

You think they would really keep an SEC team out? You have more faith than me

According to the in the know gal on ESPN, FSU might be on the cutting board based on the committee's metrics.

One thing for sure, they'll be disappointments plenty.

This would really cause all sorts of trouble; an undefeated team and major conference champion passed over because of One injury and nothing else?

Just prepare to be Bama’d.

Tie-breaking 101 is head-to-head. Texas beat them by double digits at their place. Texas also entered the week higher than Bama in the polls. But Bama bias is real, coupled with the SEC.

It should be Michigan, Wash, FSU and Texas…but I expect one of those last two gets screwed.

Sadly I think you might be right but look at last year when Bama was dropped off the list. So we can hope for Texas which is a much more interesting team to watch

What I would do:

Michigan
Alabama
Washington
FSU

Texas beat Bama but early in season. They also barely got by TCU, Kstate, and Houston. The Big 12 is not good.

The other issue is Georgia...heck they'd be favored against any of the teams above.

What will happen

Michigan
Washington
Texas
FSU

A Texas vs. Washington game would be a no holds barred brawl {bowl)!

Just based on that gets my vote.

Yeah, I think you are right about what happens .. my predictions ..

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Florida State
4. Texas

That said, I would rather see:

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Texas
4. Alabama

I want to see Alabama play Michigan :D

Alabama got in.
I thought they would have nudged out Texas since FSU remained undefeated.
Nope...The leave out FSU.

Question: Of the 4 finalist, who has the best defense?

I can see the FSU leadership using this as just another excuse to leave the ACC.
If you go undefeated in one of the P5 (pac was still active this season) and when the Conf Championship game but you still get left off for two one loss teams...
They will argue that if they were in the B1G or SEC they would have gotten in.

I get it, they have a backup QB playing and their chances for losing might by higher.
But they earned that spot by going undefeated and winning their conf champ game.

Sad that I would defend them as I do not even like FSU. But they got screwed.

Agreed. Bama and SEC BS once again. FSU EARNED ON THE FIELD the playoff spot.

Well next year that will not be a problem as heck teams like Iowa could get into the Playoffs,
And I am an Iowa Fan and Alumni but there is no way in the world that they deserve to be in the playoffs
