Anyone else in favor of starting leary over Collins. I know Collins has more upside but he struggles badly at times. Btw Collins is the only difference between the 2016 o line and the 2014 o line.

Whichever plays better ought to start. I"m ok with either of those guys.

Collins at RG and Leary at LG. Thought that was originally what was going to happen anyways. For some reason it has not.
That would make me happy. Free missed the block that got Romo injured and didn't play well yesterday. I was scared he was going to get our future franchise QB injured. I'm just not having a lot of faith in Free right now. I think he's a much better run blocker than pass blocker so I'm wondering if that's why he gets the nod.

Honestly I think Green is a better NFL OT then Martin. Martin is too square and doesnt really have the foot work to play the edge at a high level in the NFL. Collins probably, but I dont see an NFL OT in Martin

Collins will be coached up and I'm curious to see how he improves over the next few games. The tools are there. It's nice to have Leary in the bullpen.

Leary is simply a better player than Collins at this point.

Lael was horrible Sunday.
So was Martin and the entire OL. Was a bad game for the whole unit. But yet still didn't give up a sack. We know Collins and Martin can play and I feel these guys are knocking off the rust. Not concerned one bit with the OL

Respectfully have to say that Martin would be a much better tackle than Green. The guy had 50 starts at Notre Dame as their LT over his college career and two at RT. He anchored a dominant oline unit there for 4 years but excelling at NFL guard just shows his incredible position flex. I think it is a matter of time for him to slide out to RT and supplant Free. He will be pro bowl or better level there as well - in the foot steps of Larry Allen - although likely not as great.

I think it will happen this season and is why we have held on to Leary. Zack will make an ideal RT in my view.

I thought Dak helped them out a lot with his sack avoidance. One play in particular where he just bounced off the contact and rolled away from the pressure. I thought he was going down for sure but he surprised me quite a bit with his strength and athleticism even tho I held that already in high regard.

Experience counts for something which is why he can be an emergency OT, but he doesnt have the body or skill set to be a quality NFL starter at OT. His body is too square, his arms are too short and he doesnt to lateral movement to slide with NFL pass rushers. These things arent nearly as big an issue in college as they are in the NFL which is why you see alot of excellent college OT looked at solely as OG's in the NFL

I like Leary's ability but he has had a groin injury every year and has it again this year.

I 2014 he struggle for a few games due to the groin injury. In 2015 he was replaced because he struggled due to groin injury.

If we replace anyone we need to replace Free

think you should read this

http://cowboyszone.com/threads/scou...-dak-morris-success-doubling-dez-more.356547/

Ezekiel Elliott didn’t get off to the type of start that we all believed he could. For the majority of the day, he struggled against a Giants front that was up to the task of dealing with the Cowboys’ running game. What we did see, though, was a flash of what he can do with his eight-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Dak Prescott was under center and was able to bring the ball back to Elliott and give him an opportunity to see the hole. Travis Frederick, Zack Martin and Doug Free were outstanding at the point of attack, which allowed Elliott all the space he needed. He pressed the ball into the hole, then exploded off his left foot, then his right to get himself into the end zone. It was a well-blocked play but an even better finish by Elliott

In going back and studying why Alfred Morris had success running the ball – six of his seven carries came with Dak Prescott under center. Three of those plays had at least one missed block at the point of attack that he was able to fight through. His best carry was his third one -- where Jason Witten, Doug Free, Zack Martin and Travis Frederick were all able to secure their blocks front side. Morris had a lane all the way to Landon Collins before he was hit. Also note: there was only one time where he played with a fullback in front of him
