Some say Colt will start next week. Despite Wallace and Delhomme are short-term, Colt is the future. But he needs to learn a bit. But I bet, he will start next week if Senaca can't go at it!

sam bradford first nfl start

32-55 for 253 4.6 yard average 1 TD and 3 INTs against arizona

colt mccoy first nfl start

23-33 for 281 8.5 yard average 1 TD and 2 INTs against pitt

not saying colt will be better but he did better against a better team than bradford and his top 2 WR were knocked out by harrison during the game

oh and he has more rushing yards already than bradford on the year

and $47,000,000.00 cheaper.

The Colt McCoy hate is a joke, the dude did a hell of a job, two tipped interceptions, one touchdown, and he was accurate throughout the day against the best defense in the NFL, all of this without his top two wide receivers (which aren't that great #1 and #2 wideouts anyways.) Might as well start Colt over Seneca and happy feet.

Hmm. I didn't see the game but his statline looks pretty good considering the defense he was playing.

280+ yards, 1TD and 2INTs and a 69% completion percentage. A hell of a lot better that I figured he would fair.

I've never believed he would translate to the NFL. (I expected a Chris Simms type QB) I still don't believe he will, but that is a pretty positive start since he was playing the Steroiders defense.

I have big doubt about Colt but I thought for his 1st outing he did fair. I think the coaches were a bit too conservative with him but all in all given this was his 1st game on the road vs the Pitt defense Colt did alright. I think the Browns should play him the rest of the way to see if Colt has a future with the Cleveland

For his first game, against that defense, on the road, I would say he had a successful day...he did much better than what I thought he would. I hope they continue to let him play. Good job Colt!

Rookie, first game, against Pitt...he did great! And he was QBing for Cleveland...another whammy.

I say give the rest of the season to him and if he shows promise, make him the starter next year. If not, have another open contest.

The Steelers are going to eat his sorry arse alive...He's not a NFL QB.

Hey, good call, Bone... LOL...

23 of 33 for 281 yards, 1 TD and 2 ints, while being sacked 5 times... oh, and he also had 4 carries for 22 yards... this against a pretty good Steelers defense, currently ranked 6th in the league, and working with nothing resembling a running game (meaning the Steelers could basically tee of on him the whole game)... so that's 303 yards of total offense; not bad for a kid who's "not an NFL QB", making his first start in the league...

I know you're a Sooners homer, but you really make yourself look less than knowledgeable when you consistently refuse to give ANY Longhorn any credit... I'm a Horns fan, but when an Oklahoma player is NFL ready, I can at least be honest enough to admit it...

And while we're on the subject, let it be noted that Jordan Shipley, who many of you witless Horns haters said was "too slow to get separation in the NFL) has 15 catches for 190 yards in his first 4 games, even though he has two prima donna wide receivers screaming for the ball all the time...

Throw in Roy having a fine season, and us Horns fans are feeling a bit vindicated right now... and you Horns haters can choke on it... :D

lol at all the Horn dweebs getting indignant.

Chuckle... the "Horn dweebs" seem to have had the last laugh this time around... or are you unwilling to admit that ol' Colt played pretty damned well in his NFL debut, against a pretty stout Steelers defense??

Given that you have recently been forced to (grudgingly) give Roy Williams some props, perhaps you should tread easy with the "Horn dweebs" BS... I mean, you're the one looking rather foolish right now, you and all the other Horns haters...

That Steelers defense is cold. They will eat him for breakfest, lunch, and dinner and then gnaw on the remains of what is left of him.

And another helping of crow for CFIB, please... make it medium rare...

I'm not sure you could dream up a worse scenario to get your first NFL start:

ON THE ROAD,
AT PITTSBURGH
with a weak receiving core,
an injured line,
and with Peyton Hillis hurting...

against the best defense in the league who happens to be
coming off a bye week.
Wow.

RIP Colt...
The haters out there should love these odds.

I sure hope they bet big that Colt would suck... LOL...

Hush, all those facts will just confuse Bone... after all, he apparently got his education at OU...

For anybody else reading this, Bonecrusher is a pal, and one of my favorite posters... this is just Horns-Sooners smack...

One wonders how many of the other "comedians" in this thread will have the honesty to admit that...

What do you mean grudgingly? I've given him fulsome props, esp that route he killed that Texan DB on his 2nd TD, calling it the prettiest route I've ever seen.

BTW this attitude is exactly why I dislike smarmy Texas Longhorn fans.

Yeah, you did... and we both know, after a summer of ranting against him, it's killed you to have to admit you were wrong...

You mean the attitude where we confront witless Horns haters with facts??

I came to this thread, and Colt was getting thoroughly trashed, and I stood up for him... what's really galling you is that I'm right, and you can't say anything bad about Colt after that game...

As always, he who lives by the trash talk, dies by the trash talk... if you can dish it out as liberally as you do, you really shouldn't squawk when you're forced to eat your words...

I'm lovin' it... Colt's doin' good, Jordan's doin' good (well, until he got that concussion), and Roy's doin' good...

I've always been pretty confident that Colt and Jordan were legitimate NFL players, and I've been one of the few posters who stayed firmly behind Roy, even through this past summer of discontent on this board (where I saw Roy called the worst WR in the NFL)...

The moral to this fable is that it's wise not to talk trash before the fact, lest you end up having to eat crow... I save my trash talk for after...

It hasn't. I don't trash players who play well.

Uh, Roy wasn't very good for us up until this season.

And he was ranked in the 40s last year.

One "barely" decent game doesn't make a NFL QB. I will stand by hate errrrr opinion that he won't be any better Brady Quinn. Just wait, in about 2 or 3 weeks you will be back here gorging on deep fried extra crispy crow.
Of course if I'm wrong, I'll have mine baked in hot wing sauce.

And as for Roy, he is on my team so I'm gonna root for him as hard as if he was ex-Sooner playing for the Boys...:p:
...Go Roy you weird m'f'er :)

Now if we want to talk about a rookie QB look no further than Sam I Am in St. Louis. That boy is the real deal !!! He might be leading the lowly Rams to playoffs in his 1st year.
