Costa, 27 in July, appeared to be an ascending player in Dallas before falling out of the coaching staff's favor in 2013 as the Cowboys used a first-round pick on Travis Frederick. We wouldn't rule out Costa starting at center for the Colts, or at least giving Khaled Holmes a serious run for his money.

Khaleed must really sick for them to be happy about Costa. Bet they have fans that say the same thing we say here... Anybody would be better than *insert name here*... And like we have found out.... Sometimes they are worse.

Indy as well as Denver have been pretty active this FA period...but it all pales in comparison of what the mighty eagles did, I'm getting the feeling

Colts are used to squatty short armed Centers. Jeff Saturday made a pretty nice name for himself there.

That's a pretty good landing place for him. I wonder how much he got, and how legitimate a chance to start he gets. Wish him the best. I've always got a soft spot for undrafted guys who work their way on NFL rosters and then into NFL games.

He'll be out of the league in a couple of years. He can't play.

Somebody should have told the Colts.

You have to wonder, though, at what point does a guy who sticks around the league long enough to earn a pension get exposed for being unable to play? He's going into, what, his 5th season in the league? I'm going to say about year 6 or 7 is where he gets found out as the player you always assured us you understood him to be. It'll be a rude awakening, I'm sure. At that point he'll just be sitting around, crying into is game checks...if only his arms were long enough to reach his own face.

You also have to wonder why someone would think he has a point when, after telling us how much potential he had, he watched his former team use a 1st round pick on his replacement and cut him.

That's what I do when I see talent in a player. Spend top resources on his replacement and get him off the roster.

Phil Costa can't play. You're either going to agree with me or continue to be wrong. Your choice.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Costa is not versatile. If he could actually play guard, there would be value. Indianapolis will find out the hard way if he does not beat out Holmes.

Lol. Sorry, but *nobody* on this site *ever* made the case that Phil Costa was going to be a better player than a first round draft pick. The question was whether he could give a team meaningful snaps since we had limited picks and more important holes elsewhere. To which you said he was the worst player you'd ever seen in a Cowboys uniform, or whatever attention-seeking overstatement you assured us was the case.

As to Phil Costa being able to play. I'm not going to agree with you. It'll just be me, the Cowboys who drafted, extended, and tried to renegotiate him to keep him on the roster as a reserve, the Colts, who just signed him to a contract with the possibility to start, the Patriots and the Lions--both of whom were also reportedly interested--on the one side obviously *not* agreeing with you. And you, of course, on your side. Continuing to be 'right' because the consequences of being wrong on this topic just like just about every other argument you've made about our OL the last two years is just too painful to ever actually admit. We're thoroughly convinced by your assessment because you say it with such conviction you can't possibly be wrong.

Maybe we can table all Costa talk until we see if he makes an active (or 53 man) roster?
