Colombo does not have a trick knee and his injury should not reoccurr. He has lost some flexibility and quickness apparently from what I have read. However he has that mean edge that Eric Williams had. I think he is about where Williams was after the accident. He was no longer a great RT but he was a very good one. Now if Free continues to look really good then we have the option of putting him at RT and letting Colombo go. BUT that means that we would have to rely on McQ to be our backup. I have heard nothing to indicate any one else has the talent to step in and not be a disaster. We learned that the HARD way in 2005. So letting Colombo go means drafting another tackle next year. ANd one that we would have to expect to be able to step in and contribute fairly quickly. THAT means a high pick- first or second rd. So there it is. NOW if McQ can put it together then we are OK. BUT that remains to be seen. As has been pointed out, Houck is a much different OL guy then Sparano was; old school and run blocking first. Sparano was a more recent guy who decided that pass blocking comes first. The O line has become VERY good at pass blocking but its run blocking ability is frankly second rate. All the current guys on the roster with the exception of the Hotel were chosen more for their pass blocking ability. So things will be interesting.
