I think we may make one or two decent name signings...say a bly at CB or an OG.

But besides that I will agree with you that it will not be big names but players that can come in and contribute.

I think you're absolutely correct. They need a couple young hungry types at guards, defensive back, maybe WR, to fight for a spot and maybe a starting role. But no big names. Add a couple of vets that know Phillips defense but aren't impact type players and I think this team will be fine. Let the youth take over, quit trying to Snyder your way into the Superbowl.

That being said - I stand by the spirit of my post. We will sign nothing that is bigger than Akin Ayodele or Kosier. Those two will be names next to what we do this year.

I don't know if you'll see us get any major DB in free agency. Just because some on this board think Henry is garbage, I don't think Jones/Phillips will be getting any significant secondary help.

IMO, the problems on our defense go deeper than the secondary. Luckily, it's Atlanta's problem now.

I'm with you. While I don't feel Rivera has played well and is irreplaceable, I don't feel like he destroyed our team. I think we can try to get better without making a FA splash. Heck, the answer might be on this team. Or if Rivera has to play, I think they'll go with what we have.

Wade has always loved his edge rushers, and aside from Ware, Dallas is sorely lacking in that department. I think Dallas will sign an outside edge rusher who can play in nickel situations and specialty packages. I look for an Antwan Peek, Reggie Torbor or maybe KGB if he's a salary cut. Frankly, I wouldn't be opposed to signing Shaun Phillips even if he gets the high tender. I don't think the 22nd pick is a high price to pay for a double digit sack player who is 25 years old who the coaching staff knows.

I can see this as a maybe, but none of these are big names and thus in the spirit of the thread. Except maybe KGB, who has played pretty poorly this season.

The signings of Colombo & Gurode are pretty much what convinces me that we won't do anything, that and the lack of dividends from our spending sprees from the last two years.

I think Jerry understands that the Snyder School of Football is like going to Carl Weather's School of Acting.
