Quincycarter era,

There are no 1st round DE this yes besides the LSU kid. There a plethora of CB and WR that can start for team this season and these two positions are a need. I truly belive this is the year that we are going to draft the best football player onthe board round 1-3. Mccartyh loves drafting WR's early.

Young, Chaisson, and Baun are all 1st rounders in my book.

BPA at 17.

PERIOD!

If that's Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia, then so be it.

Fret not though folks. Jerry has no issue telling everyone BPA happened to meet need and they will grab a corner.

If we still had nimrod Rod and ole Red, I’d be concerned. I think this new regime has a better scope than the dinosaur.

This team sucked at drafting first round DE’s long before Red and Rod. The only one that has panned out in the last 20 years was Ware...and he was drafted as a 3-4 OLB.

Don't need RB when you have "FEED THE BEAST" and TP, so that is a position I am willing to wage my home on.

I don't know how you can say this. You have 2 nfl caliber Wrs on the entire roster and a Te who is questionable at best..This team definitely needs a pass catcher, specifically a WR..especially when you factor in mccarthy and his spread offense..he goes 4 wide A LOT..we don't even have a #3
We were very deep at receiver. Im not sure how any Cowboys fan that follows the team would say any different. With that said my hope is for CeeDee at 17.

They are not taking a WR in round 1. Why does many still insist on this.

Why in the world would edge rusher be not be considered at 17?

Nothing has happened to change the fact we need a long term answer at RDE.

SAF, CB, DT, TE, WR, Edge are all on the table for the top round picks.
Do you think Chaisson would be a upgrade over Crawford, Smith and Gregory? This isnt going to be the same scheme we saw that and one goal, get up the field as quick as you can. Nolan has a scheme that is strategic that doesnt try to get cute with stunts that leave big holes. Doesnt have the crazy rotations that didnt let the DL get into the flow of the game. Passrusher isnt a need.

Lawrence
Crawford
Smith
Gregory
Armstrong

I think if they do draft a guy its going to end up being somebody like Weaver in round 3 now.

And is the NFL draft stopping after this yr that they couldnt draft somebody next yr for the future?

The team has very little luck picking defensive ends in round 1. With the Taco debacle, I say they stay away from DE in round 1. WR will be addressed later in the draft, so look for secondary help in the first round.
And if Henderson isnt there? Because word is in the media on the west coast is the Raiders really like Henderson. What DB do you pick at 17 if hes gone?

The only thing we absolutely have to have out of the draft is a CB who can take reps as a rookie. It wouldn't be hard to get that in the 2nd round, possibly the 3rd.

We got a first round talent in the second with DeMarcus Lawrence.

I would rather the cowboys take a corner since next year lewis and awuzie are set to be free agents. corners are so overated in free agency.

To many good slot WRs in this draft can get one in 3rd or 4th. With BJ and Quinn gone I think they take best available at one of those positions.

I can sign Taylor Gabriel for cheap today to fill my slot corner role.

Now I'd ask those campaigning for first round receiver to find me my #1 corner today in free agency?

Let's see, we just lost a great corner, gained some big Dlineman, lost a decent 3rd receiver and you are tempted to gain another high pick weapon as a receiver? Last time I checked our biggest weaknesses is the fact we need a number one corner and more big bodies on the dline. receivers can be found in the later rounds.

Take BPA. Everything they’d done in free agency has allowed them to draft the best player available. If one of the top 3 wrs are there you gotta take them because most likely they will be bpa

If Kinlaw is gone yet Chaisson is there at 17, you take him. The DB depth seems far superior to edge rushers and you don't rely on two guys who have yet to be reinstated.

However, I'm in the camp of being ecstatic if Dallas gets one of the Top 3 WRs.

If We are drafting a WR in the first round (as per Mel Kiper's mock draft) - then Amari Cooper is gone after two years, imo.

i really believe its' a reason .. a huge reason - why we supposedly implemented an escape clause in Cooper's recently re-signed contract (per JJT's Whispers from the Star)

Imo, you just don't invest and throw that kind of record huge dollars in a position that you're supposedly book-end unless you have concerns and skepticism about the vastly high paid, supposed lead WR here.
and we already have Michael Gallup developing quite nicely as a No.2 guy - so you know its' not him.

So drafting a WR in the first means that rookie comes in as a slot and eventually is the outside featured guy in 2 years...
Along side Gallup, while Cowboys trade or cut Cooper. ..
