They really know what they're doing with the music. Just the trailer gave me goosebumps.
Putting aside the fact that radiation destroys cells, rather than enhance them, for argument's sake, Peter was bitten by a radioactive spider, and gained the abilities of that spider (apparently good eyesight being one of them), whereas Banner was simply blasted with Gamma rays (which, in reality, would make soup of his cells), enhancing his own strength and healing. As you pointed out, Banner doesn't retain Hulk's abilities upon returning to his natural state, so it seems plausible that being part Banner and part Hulk, his eyesight is one of the dominant Banner traits, along with intellect.
True, but also, true.- Would the same go for Matt Murdock who as kid was exposed to a radioactive material spill that not only ziplocked
all of his five senses but probably should've melted his face away, ...thus no Daredevil,.
- Imagine radiation that should have killed both Peter Parker as well as Bruce Banner . no Spider Man .... no Hulk...
- Maxwell "Max" Dillon alias Electro ..should have by all purpose been electrocuted to death while servicing a electrical power line .. thus no Electro
- Shouldn't Cloak and Dagger have died from an overdose by the experimental synthetic heroin they were forced to take as teens ?
No Cloak and Dagger ....
The minute we start making sense with Comic Books .... we have no comic books......

Did it make them immortal? It seems like they have been teenagers forever. It probably should have killed those pesky turtles as well.

It looks like Henry Cavill is once again OUT as Superman.

This news bums me out and now has me questioning DC yet again.
It makes perfect sense if they're trying to build a long-term cinematic universe. Superman is practically immortal. The younger the actor they can get (up to a point), the better. Cavill's already 39.
Now, it will take a couple of years to get a Superman movie going probably.. say two. That would make Cavill likely 41-42 when they started filming. If they have a long-term plan like Marvel, then it's likely that they would have a 8 to 10 year plan for Superman. That would put Superman at 50 years old, when he's supposed to be basically immortal. Yeah, CGI is getting better, but it still has a way to go for de-aging.
While it sucks that they have to go this way, it's for the best if they want multiple appearances over several movies.

It pisses me off to high heaven but @nobody's logic is sound. It is my expectation that all previous actors will be replaced without exception. Wipe the current board completely clean. If the plan is to hit a full reset button? I can understand that. Not like it, but understand it. But that means EVERYBODY from Snyderville goes - Mamoa, Gadot, Rock, etc - EVERYBODY.
Starting over is all or nothing. If they try to keep one or two, it’s all for nothing, and just more bad decision making.

Having said that, I hope they do a freakishly good job bringing established internal DCU actors back into new roles if that is their plan. A segment of the audience will not be aware of at least some of the transitions but not everyone--and I am in the latter group.
Most transitioning actors have made role changes crossing Warner Bros Discovery to Marvel/Disney/other or visa versa AND generally outside the current competing cinematic universes. Halle Berry? Catwoman to Storm. Michael Keaton? Batman to The Vulture. Ryan Reynolds? Green Lantern to Deadpool. Etc. Idris Elba (Heimdall to Bloodsport) is an example of current CU acting crossover.
Only comic book nerds like myself remember Chris Evans as the Human Torch in the first two Fantastic Four films or Michael B. Jordan as (again) The Human Torch in the last FF movie. Probably most moviegoers did not experience any deja vu seeing them respectively as Captain America and Killmonger.
There are a litany of actors, who have played multiple roles in both DC and Marvel movies and television shows. Very few have played multiple prominent roles. Usually, a secondary role is a cameo or CGI voicework.
The best example (in my opinion) of an actor playing multiple roles within the same CU universe, who "stood out" in both, is Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel and Sersi in Eternals. Chan's Minn-Erva was not a headliner but she did receive notable screen time. So I think of Chan's opposite role every time I re-watch both her movies.
And that brings me to any future plans James Gunn has for Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, blah blah blah. For me, my reaction, seeing Momoa as possibly Lobo down the road, will be yelling, "Hey! That's Aquaman!" Unless Lobo is done as a tiny cameo. I REALLY cannot see anyone stiffing a major character like Lobo with an insignificant drive by appearance.
Oh well. That's my rant of the day I guess. Just need to get my mind right for the regime change and their new plans over at the old WBD.
Tony role?No offense, but I think that you’re very much alone in that example. With the makeup and Tony role, most people don’t even know she was in Captain Marvel.
Even I immediately made the connection with Evans (and I didn't even know his name) when he became Cap, so I'm sure a lot of other casual comics fans did as well.It pisses me off to high heaven but @nobody's logic is sound. I like Tyler Hoechlin, from Superman and Lois, but as long as they get someone with a chiseled jaw, who actually looks strong, I'm good. I never cared for Christopher Reeve, because he always looked like he should be wearing a cardigan and smoking a pipe.No offense, but I think that you’re very much alone in that example. With the makeup and Tony role, most people don’t even know she was in Captain Marvel.
News like this just makes me worry that this new ‘brain trust’ will do just as poor of a job as the one before.
But as I said, if they’re going to start completely from scratch? Go all the way with all new faces in these characters’ roles.
Then you get an actor like Gary Oldman, whose demeanor and acting make him hard for me to immediately recognize, even when he isn't wearing appearance altering make-up. Maybe I'm the only one, but I see him in some roles, and I know he looks familiar, but it sometimes takes me a few minutes to realize it's him. That, to me, is exceptional acting.Tony role?
There are articles discussing how Chan is recognizable in both roles within the MCU. I had already noted belonging to the moviegoer category opposite those who do not notice these differences. Very much alone? Yes but it would be fair to say some like myself can see through makeup that does not greatly alter an actor's appearance to the point where they are completely unrecognizable. We may be few in number but our numbers are greater than just Chuck Noland and Wilson, lol.
And no offense taken. I enjoy identifying actors in differing roles despite how I might feel about any connecting context. It is a bigger pleasure for me whenever makeup makes actors unrecognizable without subtracting from their acting ability. I was blown away by Colin Farrell in The Batman. Heck. I have re-watched the movie at least two more times. One part of my brain still does not believe it is him.
