Probably the most ‘was always meant to be’ casting choice since Kelsey Grammer did Beast.

Did I Miss one/Anymore ... ?

Superhero movies have seen a change in quality, audience interest, and box office performance.

Quality
  • Some fans question the quality of superhero movies, which have become more frequent and popular.

  • Some say that certain superhero movies are genre films that are disguised as something else, like a crime thriller or political thriller.
Audience interest
  • Some say that audiences are less interested in paying for theater tickets for superhero movies because of the availability of streaming shows.

  • Some say that their perception of superheroes has changed, and they are no longer as interested in the genre.

Box office performance
  • Some superhero movies have made less money than they might have in previous years.

  • Some say that the number of superhero movies released in theaters has decreased.

Quality, oversaturation, inserting politics (agendas), and fan fatigue are the main reasons. I predicted the fan fatigue a long time ago. Another big problem is that for whatever reason, the studio heads in charge decided to make movies for people that don't even go to see those movies instead of the fanbase that got them mega-blockbusters in the first place and then didn't learn the lesson and kept doing it for too long. Now people are wary. Look at the superhero movies that DIDN'T go with that agenda recently and see how they did in comparison. Deadpool and Wolverine killed at the box office.

Oversaturation led to a quality drop. The quality drop wasn't just because of the writing, but also because some of the source material was never all that interesting or popular in the first place. (I.E. Inhumans.)

Finally finished Superman and Lois. Man, what a great show. Supes has always been my favorite DC character and I was very impressed with how he was written in this show as a hero, but more importantly as a husband and father.

Tyler is second only to Mr. Reeve himself in his portrayal of the boy in blue.

I encourage comic fans to give this show a watch if you haven't already.

The answer is simple. The only studio putting out good superhero films at this point is Disney.

Disregard the Marvel name on Sony’s films, they’re not Disney produced. They just have the rights to Spider-Man and the related characters like Venom, Kraven, and Madame Web.

And outside of Spider-Man, their extended universe is dead after Kraven’s release and failing.

Even Disney had some bombs but it looks like they’ve course corrected. But let’s see what the new Captain America gives us.

I’ve heard there have been a ton of changes and reshoots done on that one as well.

It was a very good show. I wasn't particularly fond of their choice for Lois, but I like the original take on the story, with sons and all.

You know I wasn't thrilled either with the casting at first, but overall I thought she embodied Lois pretty well.

To talk about Tyler Hoechlin again, I really grew to like him more and more as Superman and especially Clark over each episode.

Yeah, I mentioned a while back, in probably the "Comics" thread that he'd be good for the DC movies too.
