This X-Men Hero's New Codename Proves They're A Literal God

Marvel's Storm isn't just officially a god, but also one of the most powerful deities in the multiverse. For decades, Ororo Munroe has been a remarkably lethal Omega-level mutant. Storm's mastery over the weather and her command of thunder places her on the top tier of mutants' power rankings.

For the fiftieth anniversary of Storm's comic book debut, Marvel crowns Ororo Munroe as a member of the thunder pantheon. However, Storm goes one step beyond and becomes the one deity capable of defeating the rebel thunder god Hadad. The resulting Thunder War has reached the farthest depths of Marvel's cosmology, involving Eternity, Infinity, Oblivion, and The One Above All in the House of Ideas, as seen in Storm #12...Read more

How time flies. 46 years ago today:

Heck. I was talking about this on the first page of this thread, almost 3 1/2 years ago. :muttley:

So I finished Peacemaker Season 2 and that last episode was horrible. I'm not even sure why they made that last episode. Almost a concert episode more than a real episode, and most of the music IMO was horrible in Season 2. I know the whole hairband thing is Peacemaker's theme, but better music in Season 1. Even Superman had some dumb music. What happened to that guy who made the great soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy?

All the best Peacemaker scenes were about midway through Season 2, and a little too heavy on the "kumbayah" as the season wound down. Just felt off that we now are taking these characters a little too serious. He was going for that Guardians of Galaxy vibe, but not sure if it ever made it.

Also frustrated with Peacemaker's Season 2 take on Flagg Sr after watching Creature Commandos where he was a level-headed hero. Ironically, Gunn wrote both but it doesn't feel that way as the character does a 180.

Starting to think that Gunn is not the guy for the DC franchise. I'm not happy how he put basically all his Superman characters in Peacemaker Season 2. Shared universe but c'mon now, should be two totally different vibes. I like a lot of Gunn's stuff, but not as the entire shared universe. Feels like it would have worked better if they given him the Suicide Squad, Creatures Commando, Peacemaker, etc Anti-hero branch of the DC universe and let others tackle their own take just like how Reeves did with The Batman. I feel like I'm going to get Batman as Told by James Gunn, Justice League as Told by James Gunn, etc... which is really no different than Zack Snyder who also failed, but had his own vibe with each one, enough to take away from the universe.

The whole show feels like their version of The Boys. I'm still confused as to how the Justice League characters at the very end of season 1 turned into the Justice Gang, at the beginning of season 2.

Honestly, I'm only watching so I don't miss something in the next bad movie.

This scene is why I loved Season 1. Perfect. Has a conscience but mixes in some crazy irreverent humor. Yeah, not sure what they were looking for in Season 2 but they lost their way by the end.

Yeah, that was a really good scene. I do like the expansion of Eagly's character in S2. Silly, but somehow really cool.

James Gunn produces and directs Peacemaker. The series' first season was produced for its January 2022. It is loosely based on Warner Bros Discovery's DCEU that began with Man of Steel in 2013.

WBD ended its DCEU in late 2022, but had already filmed content like the Shazam! and Aquaman sequels. Both were released by 2023. The DCEU was effectively dead before those movies hit theaters.

WBD hired Gunn in October 2022 to head its new DCU. His number one responsibility was creating new content for its new DCU. New content includes matching Peacemaker episodes to it.

Justice League was DCEU.

Justice Gang is DCU... until Gunn formally changes it back to Justice League. ;)
