Comics and Movies

Just finally saw Thunderbolts. I liked it a lot. It got a little touchy feely, verging on corny, toward the end, but other than that, I have no complaints.

I think I like Yelena even more than Natasha.

8/10

Yea watched it on D+.

I do like re-grounding the action back from the multiverse/cosmic beings back to just "phase-1" threats.

Overall, was pretty good. Plot was fine, curious on how long the De Fontaine part of this phase lasts, as clearly she's not a "good" person in the post snap world. Definitely no MCU Fury.

Just released at the wrong time in terms of this lull MCU has been in. Had this been before Multiverse of Madness, Marvels and Thor Love and Trash it would of done a lot better.

I think a lot of the reason the movies aren't doing well in theaters is also because people don't have to wait too long before the movies start streaming.

I admit I do that these days. I no longer care to go to movie theaters. It's not the price, it's just not wanting to be surrounded by idiots laughing/talking non stop. Add in the cell phone glare etc... Rather just wait 3 months and watch it on my couch.

Not to mention bathroom breaks.

Went to see The Conjuring: Last Rights tonight.

A good addition to the franchise. Definitely better than the third installment.

There was a nice twenty minute stretch that was taught and suspenseful.

I like both Farmiga and Wilson and they continue to have good chemistry.

I'd rather watch that than most of the comic book movies that come out these days. Except for an occasional Batman or Deadpool title, really the only DC/Marvel TPBs I've read the last several years are the alternative universe stuff. Marvel Zombies, DCeased, Kingdom Come, Ultimate Marvel, Injustice, Elseworlds, etc... It's like they've run out of new stories for the mainstream stuff. LOL

The newspaper noted that Paramount's majority cash bid would be for all of Warner Bros. Discovery, including its cable networks and movie studio. It added that an offer hasn't yet been made, and the plans could fall apart... Read more

Uh-oh. Corporate shake-up time. Goodbye Gunn and everything he just did. Nothing that new corporate beancounters love to do more than shake things up for no reason.

That is, unless he's one of the reasons they feel confident going forward with this.

Nice. Bought quite a bit of their stock when it was at 8, mainly due to Gunn and Dune.
