How 'Avengers: Endgame' Will "Create a Bridge" to 'Doomsday' With New Footage​

Marvel Studios is on its way to delivering what could be the biggest comic book movie in history, Avengers: Doomsday, this December. Bringing back Robert Downey Jr. to play Victor Von Doom, the film will also include the biggest cast of any Marvel movie ever made, expanding the multiverse to heights never seen before. Additionally, the sequel has the tall order of following up on Marvel Studios' last massive crossover event movie, Avengers: Endgame, which has gone back and forth with 2009's Avatar for the title of the highest-grossing movie ever released at the box office.

During CinemaCon 2026, Marvel Studios reconfirmed plans to re-release Endgame in theaters, which will happen on Sept. 25, less than three months before Doomsday closes out the year. Along with the movie being presented in a brand-new format, Infinity Vision (developed by Disney as an alternative to IMAX), the film will include new footage and scenes that were specifically shot for the re-release and will set up some of what's coming in its successor. Pleeeease use the entire DC universe, ..and i really like an entire movie based sole on the villain,..

Avengers: Secret Wars is still more than a year away, and this comic book will likely be more reflective of that movie, but Avengers: Doomsday can be too. Or it should be, in my opinion. Up to now, all the hype has centered on Robert Downey Jr. playing Dr. Victor Von Doom.

Even so, I am holding onto hope that A: D will not end before there is some confirmable hint of The Beyonder's introduction for A:SW. After all, the character's first appearance was inside THIS particular milestone issue.

Plus, the MCU has already introduced top-tier cosmic characters like Eternity (which was so pitifully done/thanks a lot, Taika Waititi ) and Galactus. Why not swing for the fences with a character who makes them look like chicken feed? If anything, maybe introducing him could set up the introduction of the only cosmic beings above him: the One-Above-All, the One-Below-All, and The Living Tribunal (even though TLT has made a "cameo" already lol)?

Let's hope so. The latter story was told with a more mature, contemporary plotline.

I have no problem with them going that route except having the antagonists being The Beyonders instead of the original character from the 80s limited series. It would be more 'cleanly' digestible if the brand-new, main Big Bad was one entity instead of a race of malevolent entities. Just my two cents though.

I’m not entirely sure how they plan on handling an omnipotent character like the Beyonder in the MCU. I know the Molecule Man was in those stories as well, but their powers are on a level that’s tough to explain.

Well, the Celestials have already been introduced and they created The Beyonders (if I am not mistaken). Eternals provided the Celestials' backstory in brief fashion, so I am certain they could do the same with The Beyonders if they go that route--which is likely. On that same note, I would hope they could do the same with The Beyonder.

Honestly? The entire Eternals movie did not go over well for general audiences. I enjoyed it overall--except for embedded nitpickers like neutering Ajak (Selma Hayek), etc. lol.

It was fine, but not one of the films that I ever revisit. Was really not a fan of the Sersi character at all or the focus on it.

I thought the Eternals was very average. And they thought they add and use well known acting figures from the smash hit series Games of Throne, ..ala actor Kit Harington (Jon Snow)
..and Richard Madden ( Robb Stark) to help attract more viewing audiences.

That failed on it's face, imo. And i'm also another that did not care for the casting of Sersi, (Gemma Chan)
sorry but i thought she was too old for that lead role, and she herself did nuthin, to add appeal
to the character or the movie itself. I guess iwas really hoping for a Gal Gadot like casting, one that
i could immediately fall in love and follow her every word and movement.

The Eternals was a movie i could see and totally forget what i saw when i went out of the theater.
It didn;t register or stay with me at all.
