I hate needles. I got bit by a dog when I was a kid. That was back when they gave you shots in the stomach for 21 straight days or some psychotic torture. No way are you going to get me to willingly take one. I will if I have to.

I honestly do not understand people who get sick and go to the Emergency Room. They waste everyone's time with that crap.

Starve a fever, feed a cold. Clear liquids. Rest.

Ride it out. Be meaner than the flu.

I used to be terrified of needles but the last two years I've had a lot of them. Cavities, root cannals, cortisone shots in my shoulder, knee, and hip, stiches twice. The thing I still hate is blood being drawn. But I'm like you, if you get the flu deal with it. The shot just makes you sick.

Wow. All of her "life's progamming" is on the fritz. when she does something that wasnt a part of her regular life, she is fine.

Pregnant women are dissuaded from eating fish because mercury levels that are safe for people are not safe for developing organisms the size of a pea. For the 1st couple months, the fetus is no bigger than M&M. That's why women should avoid fish. (FWIW, I don't think mercury is the main target of the cause of autism, not that I am suggesting you said that.)

But that shouldn't be an argument against getting immunized. Women aren't supposed to drink during pregnancy but that isn't an argument against alcohol consumption. Its an argument against ****ing up your kid as a result of introducing harmful products at the time when they are developing most.

Which is why I referenced the age thing. Immunization is taking place much younger than it used to and it's probably not a good idea. An infant does not have the strongest immune system to handle it.

From what I can gather, McCarthy's kid was born in 02' and it wasn't until 07' that she announced he had autism. Who knows when he was given shots but its unlikely to have taken place as an infant if it took 5 years before she came out with it.

Kid's with autism aren't diagnosed until they are around 3-5, depending on the kid's own abilities. You can't tell if an infant or toddler has a learning disability. The measuring stick is when the the child is beyond simply tasks and is learning to socialize and focus comes later.

Furthermore, there are some who think that her son may not have even had autism.

I have a feeling that may be so - you can't simply cure autism in a child. Full blown autism is brutal.

McCarthy is far from a quack because she isn't just a quack. She's a quack who people will listen to. She isn't anything close to a medical expert but because she can pull the face time on the right shows, people will give credence to what she is saying.

I don't think so at all. I'd rather there be questions into the actions of an increasingly bottom-line-driven industry that is predicated on our health. If it can be highlighted that immunization is taking place too early and it's because someone opened their mouth then good. It's not a quack who questions convention.

Exactly. Outside of any injuries from work, I've been to the doctor/hospital twice in the past 13 years. Once was for pneumonia (after 4 days of a 104 degree fever I decided to go see the doc), and the other was because of a kidney stone (Wouldn't wish this on anyone).

I'm not going to waste my time (or money) for the standard cough, fever, sore throat, congestion, or because I just basically feel like crap (like I currently do). It'll be gone in a few days either way.
