It will be cool in 2015 watching the brothers battle in the same division.

Sometimes I feel like the Commanders are trying their best to be the modern-day Cowboys. First a meddling owner, then a dysfunctional culture, now a head coach hired based on his name rather than his success.

Jeez guys, I know you're jealous, but just cool it, yeah?

Is it really a surprise that Snyder and Jerry Jones are such great friends?

Peas in a pod, neither franchise deserve their owners.

I wonder what he thinks of his new quarterback and the 2nd overall pick the Commanders will be getting. Oh, they gave that one away?

I hate the Skins. I always worry about them beating us. I don't see him as being a better coach than Shanahan but he could do better.

So Gruden is going to the Commanders...................could be a problem...........ESPN

Well, any new coach "could be a problem" especially for our team under Garrett. I'm not sure this Gruden poses as big of a challenge as some others might have, though. He's an offensive coordinator with some Arena League success.

Jay Gruden, like Jason Garrett, is another example of the opportunities afforded to you in coaching based on who you know and who you're related to.

Sadly its like this in the real world as well..........I am sure we have all had jobs before where people that were friends with the boss or even relatives of the boss were promoted even though others preformed better. (more sales, more projects, ect....)

So its not just coaching, its in the business world as well.................its an old saying, but it is 100% true...............its "who you know" and not "what you know" that is more important.

Yeah, that must be why Atlanta and Baltimore offered Garrett their head coaching positions.

2007 called and said hello.......................fast forward 7 years......................you think either one of those teams would trade their current head coach for Garrett today?

Not sure how "his system" and RGIII will mix.

I dont think it was the system that was the issue last time. Might have been but i think shanahans ego and TO3 oops I mean RG3's tendency to throw the staff under the bus were the problem. I mean it looked like a fit a year ago. I am hoping TO3 will do the same to the next staff!!!

I agree. From a Skins fan perspective--it's hard to not get all geeked up over something shiny and new. It's interesting that they retained Sean McVay as OC (VERY young--27--but is well-regarded around the league, apparently.) It will be interesting to see how Brown and Campbell take over the personnel side.

I am more concerned with the defensive side of the ball, and special teams. Overall the offense wasn't terrible last year. It wasn't great--but it wasn't terrible either. Defense was terrible; ST were worse. If they retain Jim Haslett, I may blow a gasket.

I am reserving any excitement until I see the product on the field. I've been fooled too many times to assume anything now. I was over-the-moon excited for Shanahan b/c he brought a credibility to the organization and Cerrato was finally canned. One thing, I think is clear though--for good or bad--this has Bruce Allen's fingerprints all over it, and not Dan Snyder's (Shanahan was Snyder's, all the way).

So, we will see...

I fail to be impressed by Bruce Allen. I don't see where he has any credentials outside of being the spawn of a famous coach.
