Yes, but I would not worry about him getting it, especially in Washington.

This is more of his friend Bruce Allen doing him a favor to get his name out there. He will probably be a viable candidate in a few more years.

PFT spin:

Bisaccia just completed his first year with the Cowboys and came to Dallas after spending two years in San Diego. Before that he had a long run as the special teams coach and, eventually, assistant head coach with the Buccaneers. Commanders General Manager Bruce Allen also worked for the Buccaneers during that period, so Bisaccia’s a familiar face to the man who declared himself in control of the organization this week. Bisaccia has no head coaching experience.

Rich Bisaccia is the Cowboys Special Teams coach. He was new this year and was probably the team MVP. The Special Teams were the best unit on the team and drastically improved from previous years.
Thanks. Maybe that is why I did not hear of him...the Special Teams were SO good they flew under the radar. Don't think for one second this is a token interview for the Skins. The Skins were AWFUL...I mean historically awful on special teams...and I would not be shocked if they somehow find a promotoion to get him in there organizaiton

the only position he can accept is head coach. we would of blocked any other interview request.

It is reported as an interview for the head coaching job. That is a big jump to go from a special teams guy to a head coach. Almost like going from an offensive line coach to a defensive coordinator. Bisaccia was also with Auburn for a month before Dallas hired him.

If this were purely Bruce Allen's decision, i could easily see Rich Bisaccia getting the HC job in DC. Rich Bisaccia has a history with Allen and fits the description of what Allen is looking for in a HC. I just can't see Snyder signing off on this one...

Yep, Harbaugh did make that transition. Cowher was the DC in KC for a 3 years before landing the HC job with the Steelers.

This guy was calling for Bisaccia earlier in December.

There is no question he did a great job this year.

He had a definite killer instinct for attacking the ST weak Commanders in the return game and it basically won both contests for us. It is clear he made the recommendation to pick up Spurlock for the second game and it paid off in spades. Had we just stuck with Beasley in that game we could have lost.

Roster input is a big part of a ST coach's job. Their input at the bottom of the roster has an impact across the entire team. It is harder because you basically have to find the right players and identify the special skill in players that are not exactly the most talented.

It is not impossible. Bill Cowher and John Harbaugh both did it successfully.

And Andy Reid went from coaching QBs to head coach.

But I agree with you. This is his buddy getting his name included in the pool of available head coaching candidates. Could pay off for him down the road. I'd be stunned if the Commanders hired him.
