There is no question he did a great job this year.

He had a definite killer instinct for attacking the ST weak Commanders in the return game and it basically won both contests for us. It is clear he made the recommendation to pick up Spurlock for the second game and it paid off in spades. Had we just stuck with Beasley in that game we could have lost.

Roster input is a big part of a ST coach's job. Their input at the bottom of the roster has an impact across the entire team. It is harder because you basically have to find the right players and identify the special skill in players that are not exactly the most talented.

These are all great points. It would be a blow to lose him.

I agree. He definitely has something about him. I really appreciated the great job he did this season. Still it is a big jump. Not impossible, but it isn't common. Of course I would be rooting for him to fail if he does get the gig.

all of the good coaches are trying to flee from this tyrannical dysfunctional organization.

When you are offered a HC interview you take it. It doesn't matter if you are currently with a dysfunctional or stable organization.

Would it at all be funny if he got the Commanders job and then led them to several titles?

He's been a dark horse name for HCing jobs in the past. Guys love to play for him and there's an advantage to hiring SP teams coordinators for the HC gig. They tend to be great game managers and can step back from O and D and let their coordinators do their jobs while they run the day to day operations.

He was one of the guys I wouldn't mind see as HC in Dallas. I firmly believe that the HC should be a motivational guy and manage the entire team. Let the OC and DC handle their players.

Of course. But it is clear the infusion on the staff last year are all definite short timers, either due to age or other loyalties.

They are definitely not motivated to staying with this organization if there are other opportunities. I cannot say I blame them.

Rich Bisaccia is the Cowboys Special Teams coach. He was new this year and was probably the team MVP. The Special Teams were the best unit on the team and drastically improved from previous years.
The guy is severely overrated by people on this board. Dwayne Harris and Dan Bailey got this guy a head coach interview.

I wouldn't go that far. It may be due to better players, but I can't recall any major ST busts like what would happen in prior years. It seemed the ST unit covered really, really well this year.

Thanks. Maybe that is why I did not hear of him...the Special Teams were SO good they flew under the radar. Don't think for one second this is a token interview for the Skins. The Skins were AWFUL...I mean historically awful on special teams...and I would not be shocked if they somehow find a promotoion to get him in there organizaiton

They can only hire him as Head Coach because he is under contract to the Cowboys. The old rules where assistant coaches were automatically allowed to leave for a non-HC promotion are gone. Jerry would not allow him to leave for a job with the Skins; therefore, his only option is Head Coach.

Jerry has blocked assistants from leaving in the past. He did it with Joe Decamillis and Tony Sparano.

Don't tell that to Garrett, I believe he turned down the Baltimore and Oakland HC positions.

I'm prepared right now to make Cowboys Rich Bisaccia head coach of the Cowboys and let the Washington Team have Garrett. No, I'm not joking. I'm not exaggerating. I'm serious. He wouldn't be my first choice but I'm pretty certain he would be a heck of a lot better than Garrett. My first choice would be OK ST Gundy.

It is reported as an interview for the head coaching job. That is a big jump to go from a special teams guy to a head coach. Almost like going from an offensive line coach to a defensive coordinator. Bisaccia was also with Auburn for a month before Dallas hired him.

Or QB coach for two years to OC of the greatest franchise ever

And Andy Reid went from coaching QBs to head coach.

But I agree with you. This is his buddy getting his name included in the pool of available head coaching candidates. Could pay off for him down the road. I'd be stunned if the Commanders hired him.

Reid had the Eagles being a perennial playoff contender within a year. They were abysmal in the late 90s. Yet our Princeton product needs many more years to be trained.

Then the consensus is in, Jerry needs to fire Garrett and elevate Bisaccia to HC!
