Bro,, Cousins is not coming in and reviving this team. The Commanders have already quit on this season.

Chances are you are right but again you play the games and see what happens. You claim that they have given up on the season? OK fair enough but then if Cousins can spark this team then even more reason to think Shanahan move was the right one and reason to give hope for 2014.

My personal view is skins will not finish strong and Shanahan will get fired however I don't think it is set in stone and only playing a scenario in which he can save his job

The only thing they have left to play for is beating the Cowboys. Its the only consolation prize they can get.

I think it will take more than beating the Cowboys but yes a win vs Dallas would go a long way but it has to be more than that for Shanahan to keep the job, they would have to have a sense that he knows what he is doing and this season was just a down season.

I doubt that there will be teams hurting for QB who will be willing to give more than that.

In a world in which the Raiders' trade 2 first round picks for Carson Palmer you never know. Shanahan is nuts enough to think it'd be a great idea to move him within the division to show how genius he is, and we'd rob a franchise QB.

I dont think beating the Cowboys will save his job. But you know they would love to do it.

With all the chaos and dysfunction how can they keep him around?

lol

Bro, do you know how fun it would be to watch RGKnee ride the pine and have Cousins come in and win the rest of the games (but not the cowboy game)? That would be fun to watch, like a triangle Midget> coach> RGknee.

It would be fun to watch. It's been fun to watch! lol

I don't know how much money Shanahan will make if he either quits or gets fired.

How does this situation happen given that Washington has a 'real' coach and a 'real' GM? The blame-it-all-on-Jerry crowd is having a hard time trying to fit this peice into their jigsaw puzzle for super bowl success.:)

When things go bad like this year for Washington, blame it all on the owner. When things go well like last year for Washington, give all the credit to the GM and coach.

Dang bro, people on this board loooooove comparing us to them, no matter what it is. Well here it is, the owner of that team isn't much better than this one when it comes to meddling, and apparently their GM is no better either. Difference, the owner there WILL fire the GM whereas the owner if this team says the GM is doing just fine by his standards. Does anyone remember the good ole days when everyone compared themselves to the Cowboys... Hell soon we'll be comparing this team to, "we're not as bad as the Buccaneers". I say lets just worry bout the mess right here in Dallas cause their mess isn't making ours get any better.

He is going to make money either way but men with pride do not like to fail they do not relies getting fired. Shanahan is not hoping to lose his job. As for Cousins I think when you make a move like this it better be right if he hopes to keep his job. RGIII will fetch a good return if skins want to move him. many will claim the poor season because of the injury and to an extent they are right, young QB's can't afford to miss the OTA, the training camps and pre season. RGIII was not ready to go and it showed.

That would be their SuperBowl. The only thing that they are looking for now is to beat the Cowboys.

Not this season.

It makes sense. They have a QB in Cousins that they really know nothing about.

Whether Shanahan stays or a new coach comes in. They have to know what they got in Cousins. pre-season isn't the same as regular season. Give him a week to prepare and he could do a bit better.

It does get me thinking that if he fits what Shanahan wants to do much better, the game @WSH could be a problem....it's got trapgame written all over it

Yeah, for the Commanders. The Cowboys Coach and QB are not in that mess!

Washington needs to 'showcase' Cousins for trade bait. They need draft picks bad. If Cousins can show something these last 3 games, they might be able to get a 3rd or maybe even a 2nd if he plays lights out. Anyway, Cousins has only one more year in Washington under contract. They can then tender him for another year but he is a FA after that. Not sure if the tender amount is tied to the round drafted or the position. If it is the position of QB, then I imagine the tender would be quite high and out of the question.
