Pretty good for a mid level qb

Kirk is a borderline Top 10 QB right now so I wouldn't say he is mid level. And his deal would be history a few days/weeks after when Rodgers/Stafford become the 2 highest paid QB. Next year Kirk's salary on this contract would have been a bargain. This is just the way the NFL works. Whether or not your top at your position doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is the demand. With that said a few things anger me.

1. Kirk has no interest in playing for Commanders. If he did, he would've used that as a base negotiation and built on it.
2. We are basically playing this season on a rental QB.

I wouldn't say our season is over or anything either, but this bromance is over. Snyder/Bruce screwed this beyond belief. I could only imagine how they treated Cousins when RG3 was here drafted/following year. And yet we are several years later and the FO doesn't know if this is our franchise QB. We haven't seen QB play like this since the 90's.

If he is an average QB than I assume you also agree that Dak is also an average QB nothing more, correct?
Let's see? How many years has Cousins been in the NFL? He's up and down. Dak's been in it one year. Best rookie QB I can ever remember. But yea if he starts to have bad years mixed in with good years I'll call him average. I know one thing I won't give excuses for him. I never gave any for Romo and I won't for Dak. I expect to win SBs. And BTW I always had Romo ranked as the #8th or #9th best QB as his era. Cousins doesn't even come close to that. Lucky I don't call him a scrub anymore.

Cousins' Td-Int differential of 13 was not anything special.
Somewhat Eli-like...but maybe on an good Eli year:muttley:

He was 3rd in total passing yards and had a very solid 97 QB rating to go with all that passing--which is hard to do.

Just something about him though that doesn't seem special....especially in the redzone.

LOL, this is exactly the reason why nobody besides Cowboys fans would even take you seriously. I don't blame you though, I sometimes have sorts of bias towards the Commanders.

True dak. He's hot and cold too often. Nothing consistent about him. 'Skins offered him the money because there just isn't another average QB out there. Unless of course they take a chance with Johnny Nuttin'.

Kirk doesn't want to play in Washington. Period. Forget what he says, actions speak louder than words. Or in his case, inaction. If he wanted to play for the Commanders, he would've at least responded to the offer. It may not have been the highest total salary amount out there, but it was more guaranteed money than he was going to get anywhere else.

When you're negotiating because you want a deal done, you decline the offer and tell the other side why. When you say nothing, you really don't care how it turns out because you hold all the cards.

He's a good QB, but he isn't an elite QB. Unfortunately, he'll be the best available free agent QB next offseason. We should've drafted a rookie QB this year to groom in case this happened.

But ultimately, I blame Dan and Bruce on this. Why doesn't Kirk want to sign a LTD for you? Because you treated him like trash when Griffin was there, and not much better when he became the starter. They should've transition tagged him instead of giving him another franchise tag. The guaranteed money to play this season would've been cheaper, and they may have got a bite from a QB needy team like the Jets or Niners. At least they would've got some compensation for him out of all of this. Most likely they'll get nothing.

They treated Cousins like a red headed ******* and then they wonder why he wants to play elsewhere.

It really shows you how bad he must feel about Snyder and Bruce. Whether you think Cousins is near elite or just pretty good, the Commanders offense is really good and Cousins has been great running it the past two years. He has made some mistakes that cost the team, but he has made a lot of big plays as well. Normally you would think the QB would be running to stay with that team where he has had success. It is very telling he appears to be doing the opposite.

Cousins made $42 million in two years, and will sign for $60+ million guaranteed somewhere next year.

The Commanders are stupid. Lol
