Wow and he didn't take It? Not sure he will get that much elsewhere.

I think he'll get $25+ million/year. The cap keeps increasing and the Niners will probably want him as they have nothing in line for QB at this point.

Cousins will wait and see what Stafford will get and go from there.

I put cousins somewhere between Dalton/Flacco and Eli of 2016. Somewhere in the top 12-15. Before the skins fan jumps up and down and asks where I put Prescott, I put Prescott in the top 20 of QBs just because he is young and 1 season does not make you elite or top 10.

I don't know if you meant me or not, but I really don't care where you rank them. But in the interest of discussion, list the 12 or so QBs you rank ahead of Kirk. I think you may be surprised at how thin the pool is, and why Cousins is poised to make a lot of loot. Simply getting decent QB play is tough.

Which is why Danny Boy and company totally blew this one. Its clear Cousins wants out of Washington and nothing will change his mind. That is on the skins 'brain trust' and no one else.

Winston? I understand the hype as he looks good and young but he will need to improve this year on the INTs. I am taking Kirk over Jameis every single time and so would most GMs........I highly doubt Chiefs fans would even list Alex Smith in the top 15. Come on man, Alex Smith? The Chiefs fans would be buying superbowl tickets if they made a straight up trade Kirk for Smith. Alex Smith is garbage on any team without a top 5 defense. Kirk is a top 10-12 QB.

Top QBs
1. Brady
2. Rodgers
3. Ryan
4. Brees
5. Ben (although getting banged up lately he might slide into 6,7,8 soon)
6. Luck
7. Wilson
8. Carr
9. Stafford
10. Cam
11. Rivers
12. Kirk
13. Dak

**Honestly 5-9 could be anywhere in that range and 11,12,13 could be shuffled as well.

Kirk is not a top 10 QB, maybe twelve-fifteen, but you did say 10. And Jameis is every bit a top ten QB and a future phenom. Kirk ahead of Dak is a no-go, brother.

Alex Smith is fifteen'ish.

He was offered around 19 mil AAV, and wants Carr money. The contract offered also included this year's franchise tagged guaranteed cash, so it was only an additional ~$20 mil guar, Haley.
OK. Not enough money?? GD...WTH. I really never though he was much more than slightly above average. Well, its his decision.

Yeah, it's sad that he holds the cards. A barely above-average QB holding out for elite QB money (Carr), and he'll get it next offseason, whether with the Skins or elsewhere (9ers, probably).

Exactly. He needs a lot of help to win games.

Washington does not have that level of talent or the coaching.

I get this is a Cowboys forum, but where do you guys come up with this crap? This couldn't be more far from the truth. Kirk is one of the few QBs who doesn't need a whole lot of help on offense to move the ball and put points on the board. This is largely because he is a perfect system QB, has Jay Gruden (excellent OC) and those 2 combined make for a great offense. This is the reason why SOME in the organization felt they could let Kirk walk if the price is not right because of the smoothness of a Jay Gruden Offense no matter who the QB is. Nevertheless this benefits everyone including the reason why Kirk wants to be paid like a top QB and also is the reason why the contract situation is what it is. Jay Gruden is one of very few stable things in our organization right now.

If you watched any of our games last year, Kirk was rarely the primary reason we lost. Our defense was atrocious at the run, below average on pass, and far past embarrassment on 3rd down. Washington not having talent remains to be seen in the next few years, but coaching, QB, and OLine are the biggest strengths of this team right now. What you just said would be equivalent of me saying Dallas lacks OLine and Zeke will need alot of help to run.

Very few GMs would put Dak ahead of Kirk right now but I believe they are right next to each other. Kirk doesn't have the luxury of handing the ball off 35-40 times a game and running a game plan that established the run to open the pass. We have to deal with establishing the pass and hoping the run shows up. Not the best circumstance for an offense although it is working. Dak also has only 1 year under his belt, although looks great, hard to anoint him ahead of others with a small sample size. I get the homerism/bias we BOTH have, but I highly doubt many outsiders would rank Dak ahead of Kirk. That may change this year, we will remain to be seen.
