John Keim, of the Washington Examiner, reports one Philadelphia Eagles fan learned a lesson at the team's Week 17 game. Washington Commanders RB Clinton Portis' mother, Rhonnell Hearn, was attending the game with her husband and a few of Portis' friends. She was hit by a cup of beer and retaliated. "She busted some lady's nose," Portis said of his mom. "Whoever that fan was got what they were looking for. My mom is going to protect herself." Hearn watched the rest of the game from Washington's sideline.

How come whenever I read these stories about NFL players and their mothers their last names rarely match? Portis' mom, McNabb's mom...jeez.

Because we live in a country where the divorce rate is 57% and climbing and people marry more than once, sometimes several times.

It's like vows mean nothing and marriage is disposable.

Sorry, off my soapbox.

"She busted some lady's nose,"

Do you think that woman threw the beer or was it just some poor lady with in swinging distance?

Yeah, seeing her being escorted to the sidelines because some fans attacked her. The same thing happened to Randy White's mother in a game against the Commanders too.

I bet if Clinton Portis was in the sideline those fans would not be so brave...

From what I recall, she was never married to begin with. There was a big thing about it, cuz Portis took her to his prom.

Regardless, no one really knows how a person comes to have a different name from their children, so we really shouldn't assume...

Lol...Great story. Those great fans in the city of brotherly love.

You know, Philly fans always ask why we are called Americas Team. I guess we could ask why their city is known as the city of brotherly love.

with that temper no wonder she's divorced.

What?

Someone threw beer on her.

My mother would have whooped that arse too...

Im sorry, you dont mess with somebody's mother.

As a male (which I am assuming you are), you know that is usually the one button....that can set you off...

LOL. Feisty today aren't you? I know that I wouldn't put up with a violent woman like that. Ok maybe i would if the sex was good. ;)

you're prolly right on the money. i saw her on the sidelines and she looked like a nice lady. but sometimes those are the worst kind. the ones that look nice and friendly and become hormonically imbalanced. LOL. ok i'll shut up now because it sounds like i'm projecting myself.

I'm sure many fans here believe that all Eagle fans laughed at Irvin being hurt, at Santa Claus, and encourage violent behavior toward visiting opponent fans in Philadelphia.

But you couldn't be more incorrect! I believe that type of behavior is totally wrong and should not go unpunished. Do we blame Eagle fans, or just the ones that participate in that Type of behavior!? Each individual is responsible for their own actions -- regardless of their fan affiliation. Did the beer have anything to do with either party's involvement?

I'm uncertain what the participant rate was during the game, but if that was the only incident that occurred ...it sounds like a relatively mild incident rate. I wonder how many incidents happen during games (other than games in Philly) at other stadiums, that we never hear about.

It's so unfortunate that this type of incident occurred.:
