the skins have a well deserved reputation for ignoring the draft, but they have drafted some good players years ago, as well as recently. jansen, samuels, betts, (not putting smoot in that category after sunday- hes in the doghouse), cooley, betts, taylor, rocky, landry (looks pretty good so far). not counting other good/decent draft picks that went elsewhere - bailey/dockery (had 6 good games really). and i do think campbell will be a pretty good QB, at least.

Lloyd will have to step up against Philly or he'll probably end up on the inactive list before seasons end, if they haven't made that decision already.

It's a shame they don't draft more often, because as you can see, their scouting department has hit on a lot of players.

I was originally thinking McIntosh was a bust, because he didn't see the field last year—boy was I wrong, he's all over the place this year! In fact, he and Fletcher (who was supposed to be a huge mistake btw, how's that turning out for us?) are playing so well that, you don't even here Marcus Washington's name anymore. See, you don't here about the times when the Skins hit on players by using aggressive tactics, all you hear about is the players that they missed on.

Like I've said before in the past, when the Skins go out on one of their free agent splurges, as long as they hit on a few players, I'm ok with it. It appears we got a couple if good players out of the deal, in Randel EL -- say what you want about the guy, but he's one hell of a football player; I think we're starting to see his true potential in the Skins offense. 5 catches for 162 yards, not too shabby; Andre Carter seems like he's starting to get comfortable as well.

Yeah, these guys get big contracts, but how often do the free agents they missed actually see the majority of that money? They don't.

Until we start winning, we will be scrutinized for anything and everything that we do.

All this based on preseason and one game? Give it more time AG.... It may be totally different this coming week against Philly!

Yeah, you're totally right, man; I think week 1 is one of those weeks that is up in the air. We see bad teams beat good teams, good teams losing close games to bad ones on the road.

The defenses are usually ahead of the offenses and the best thing any team can do is come out of an ugly game w/ a win.

That being said, I still would like to see Brandon Lloyd sent packin, even after one week :)

Is Lloyd hurt or are they just that down on him?. After Hurd's performance Monday any interest in Caldwell went out the window.

Hurd caught one pass. Let's wait a bit before we annoint him the next Drew Pearson. Like until next week;)

That's what I was thinking.

The only reason they signed the guy was so that Dallas couldn't.

Yep. Too bad we didn't need/want him anyway.

Yeah, I not annointing him to Canton just yet, but Based on the little playing time he got last year and in preseason and the fact that Parcells liked him makes me think we might have something.

I would footnote that of the 11 players you listed, 4 were top 10 picks and 6 were in the first round. The odds of success were in the skins favor for those picks.

I will give you Jansen cooley and betts. it is still to early to tell with Landry (who I think will be real good), Rocky and JC. That doesn't look to impressive to me when you consider those success cover about 6-8 drafts.
