Commanders Still 7m over the cap of 102m...maybe

now, we're getting somewhere. (the old 'reading comp skills', the not original, is a good one when you need that little extra 'oomph' to make your point.)

this board was littered with posts proclaiming the skins as being in cap hell. it appears that not only are they not in cap hell, they are pursuing some free agents.

so, how did they 'not manage their cap well'?
They can pursue all they want. There are limited number of quality free agents. Virtually the entire league has more dough to spend than the Commanders. How can you look at this picture and say, "that's good cap management"?

if i wasnt comfortable with the core players they have, i would agree.

but, the vast majority of players are set and under contract for next year.

if Brunell goes down or is ineffective do you think Campbell will be ready?

comfortable with the core players? You just said on another thread that the team needs to "move ahead".

Can I say one more time ---who cares----go get yours and we will go get
ours and play football---everyone from the cowboys to the ---sorry can't
put them on the same level Commanders work the cap numbers----who cares
If you are a bad manger -it will catch up with you.. If you learn from your
mistakes as Jerry did , you will rebuild.. but 7 pages of back and forth (even when it is boring) is nuts.....Just sit back and wait till the fall and play....My gosh I spent all this time responding to this junk:bang2: :bang2:

both correct.

by move ahead, i meant win more than one game in the playoffs. not shake up the roster.

I take it you're not familiar with internet message boards. This is why they exist.;)

i have no idea, but given gibbs history with QB's, i will give him the benefit of the doubt.

If Washington is fine being complacent with their current talent then I'm all for it. Good luck with that.

Is that the point your trying to make "posts proclaiming the skins are in cap hell" you made your point but can we agree that your at the bottom of the heap when it comes to the flexability of your roster and the ability to add more peices to the puzzle.

snyder is rarely complacent. but i think he and gibbs are comfortable with the lineup. who would you replace?

theogt and i are debating this- the skins are returning the vast majority of their starters from last year without having to re-sign anyone at this point.

they dont need to add much.

I would replace Sean Taylor after he gets thrown in the slammers :lmao2:

Where to start?

Any WR but Moss...Royal....anyone of the guys plugged in at LDE....maybe Daniels....Holdman...

it's hardly a rock-solid lineup top to bottom.

well, OK, think of it this way...You might have good starters. But that doesn't win you anything.

Let's say if Portis gets injured, who's going to take over for him that can actually run and not work as a Fullback?

Let's say if Brunell gets injured, would Jason Campbell be ready?

How about Santana Moss, the Commanders might as well pick up people off of the street to be WRs, because the rest of your WR's are just pitiful, especially Taylor "Migraine" Jacobs...

IMHO, if one of those key role players falls, its the end of the Commanders' season...

I agree on Campbell... How many snaps did he take last year? I don't think running the practice squad helped get him ready..... He was a heck of a QB at Auburn but this is a totally different level.... we'll see I guess.
