You can all pontificate all you want, but at the end of the day, if Ben were a Cowboy, you would still want him to play for us, you wouldn't care just like you didn't care when Irvin got in trouble, when Deion Sanders was doing his best porn star imitation etc

Acting like off field behaviour means much in the overall scheme of things on Sunday is naive.

If I told you that we would win a SB for five straight years but 80% of the team were satanist criminals, I am pretty sure at least half of you couldn't care less, all you would want is the SB.

The NFL is what it is, pro athletes are what they are, no matter what bleating happens, that will not change.

...that at some point in time you can get over this negative view over football players.

There are a lot of NFL players that will fill the bill of morality that Ben has been unable to do so these past few years.

As for players like Irvin and Sanders they would not be my choice of favourite Cowboys players and although I can't determine which players play for the Cowboys there are some things I can control.

ie. I won't purchase a Irvin or Sanders jersey for myself or my children. That's just me and it's my statement about the type of players I admire enough to brand myself with their jersey and number.

We don't have to accept the actions of players like Irvin and Roethlisberger and we can make lasting statements reflecting the legacy of their careers.

Huh?

Who hasn't just met a woman and then had intercourse with her?

ask yourself, what would you rather have, nice guys who lose, or bad ***** who win?

Given we are just fans and the players actions in no way have an effect on us, why should we care what they do off field.

In the 1990s, few of us cared what happened and then because Jerry all of a sudden cared, he took Greg Ellis instead of Randy Moss and might have cost Aikman one more SB.

There is no one morality out there.

Guy Lafleur was the best Canadiens' player of my generation and my hero as a child, didn't matter he smoked like a chimney, drank and drove and womanized. All most of us cared about was he scored a goal when we needed it.

The fact that you all have to go to lengths to help Canadianguy understand the story behind the story truly baffles me. I truly can't believe Mr. Canadian is this aloof. Something does not compute. He must be putting you all on. Gotta be. Anything else would be uncivilized.

Actually, I am pretty aloof. My world is just what is front of my face for the most part. I care more about whether Russell will win Survivor than whether Iran will get a nuclear weapon. When I was younger, I used to worry about stuff like you people then realized since there was nothing I could do about it, why care.

OJ Simpson was found not guilty, oh well, what is for dinner.

If anything, I am the epitomy of North American television and entertainment society. TV and society created me. Society gave me 200 tv channels to watch reality tv, society gave me Fat Actress, Carnie Wilson Unstapled, Man v Beast, Littlest Groom, Celebrity Rehab etc

I am just a victim of society. Not my fault.

You don't understand, for the most part, I only care about maybe 10 things in life

Wife
Son
Dog
Mom
Sister
work including a few of the people at work
Montreal Canadiens
Dallas Cowboys
Canadian Olympic hockey team and our other olympic athletes
global warming

I can sit here and rant and rave about a player on the another team and what he might or might have done in a bathroom with an adult female (sorry even if 21 is a drinking age, at 20 you are an adult), but ultimately since the DA, her family (asked not to prosecute) don't care to nail him good, why should I?

To me it like the roids in baseball argument, if MLB didn't care enough to test Bonds, Canseco, McGwire et al, why should I?
