I'm not sure alcohol alone is enough to constitute sexual assault. I think you have to slip something in their drink for it to be so. Just getting drunk with someone and bumping monkeys is not enough standing alone.

Which still doesn't mean she asked to have sex, wanted to have sex, or was in any shape to actually conciously agree to have sex.

Ben should have been smarter than this and unfortunately he's one of those guys who isn't smart enough to understand this.

Exactly. There is no way to get around him being a moron in this situation. He put himself, in more than one way, into a bad situation and made multiple bad decisions while doing so. What the guy gets as punishment for it is more than deserved and I don't feel in the least bit bad for the guy.

This has to be one of the silliest posts ever. And we get a lot of them so that is saying something.


She cared enough to flag down a cop immediately after leaving the club, reporting the offense, going to the hospital and submitting to a humiliating rape kit examination.

A 20 year girl who was clearly into the sauce did about 100 times more than one would expect... which is why Ben felt confident enough to keep trying this crap.

She's also publicly stated what happened. She just didn't want a trial some BFE Georgia DA couldn't afford to prosecute or win.

There are plenty of accounts out there and NONE of them make Ben look anything but bad.

So someone who doesn't want to go through the humiliation of recounting and re-experiencing her trauma means we shouldn't care either? She's stated that the publicity of this case is one of the reasons she doesn't want to press charges. There are some people out there who can reasonably understand that.

For every sexual assault victim willing to tell their story, there's 20 more that can't, not because they don't want to, but that re-telling it can be very traumatizing.

First off she did care enough to go through with the charge the DA didn't finish through with it because he didn't feel like he had quite enough evidence to make it a slam dunk case. So it had nothing to do with what she wanted to go through with.

Secondly even if she hadn't wanted to go through the entire humiliating process that shouldn't make the humanity in any other person suddenly shut off.

So you're telling me cause there are people out there who don't care about what happens to others that you, and I, shouldn't either? That is quite possibly one of the most ignorant and sad things I've ever heard of if that's really how you look at life.
