Anybody can be accused of things.

This is where Roger just needs to back off. Until Big Ben gets proven guilty of something he should just back off.

What if this same thing happens to Peyton Manning? Are you going to suspend him just for being accused?

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

The guy is a sexual predator.

He'll forever be Ben Rapistberger in my book.

And a lot of other people's as well.

What type of behavior is that and how many other players display this type of behavior but haven't been accused of things?
It's his second case of being accused of rape. Anyone who had paid attention to the case knows that all evidence points to rape. Let me guess, you were one of the ones defending Vick?

I dont buy this. It doesn't take much to put yourself in position to get into this kind of trouble.

Last time I checked this is America and you are innocent until proven guilty so until all the facts are collected Goodell should just bow out.

Why rush to make this decision? Why put time frames on it?

All the facts have been collected.

Look im not denying that he probably did rape her. Its my initial reaction usually when I hear something like that. But guess what? Just because its my initial reaction doesn't mean its right.

If he hasn't been charged or proven guilty of anything than nothing should be done because anyone can be accused of anything.

Even if he is not guilty of rape (and I think he is) RuthlessRaper is guilty of some other crimes. Number 1, contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was buying under age girls drinks.

Every other side issue that comes up with regards to this case looks like a cover up. The actions of the club owner to sterilize the bathroom. The resignation before a dismissal of the investigating officer. The investigation by the Pennsylvania Highway Patrol of why one of their officers was in Georgia acting as a bodyguard. The erasing or recording over of the security tape the very next night when they are routinely kept and rotated on a 2 to 4 week basis.

This is the 2nd allegation against him and there was a hint that there are others out there.

If Goodell doesn't step in and suspend RythlessRaper at least 4 games I think he will be doing the entire NFL a horrible disservice. I think it should be 8 games. Buying alcohol for underage girls alone is just plain stupid. Ask Matt Leinart.

I would just like to see the league react to facts instead of he said she said.

If Big Ben doesn't deny plugging in the bathroom then yeah he deserves some punishment.

I was under the impression that the question was not whether or not he had sex with the girl in the bathroom...that seems to be something that indeed did happen but the question remains whether it was against her will or not.

Either way you are starting to look a little foolish fighting this issue as again it does not have to be proven in a court of law for the league to suspend you or not.

A player can be suspended for situation (and in his case situations) that can give the league a proverbial black eye.

Has nothing to do with the rape accusation.

He was having sex in a public place on a bathroom floor with his bodyguards guarding the door.

That has not been denied.

That does not uphold the image that he is being paid partially to uphold.

Amazing how people can try to pacify a serious matter when a celebrity is involved. If it was someone's daughter or sister the tides would turn....It just goes to show how guys can use that theory of "she wasn't drunk she wanted it..." and like you said Zrink the guards in front of the door don't make it look any better! IMO I'm quite sure the Rooney family are seriously confused and disgusted about this matter. I was hearing how many places in PA are removing Rothlisberger jerseys out of their stores....If I was the Rooney's I would be removing him from my team...

Nothing new. I honestly dont know all the details. But I just dont feel like they should have the right to do anything unless he does admit to getting it on in the bathroom.

Once you start suspending players for this you have to do it consistently and I dont have faith that Roger would do that if the right name popped up in an instance like this.

There's a difference between what happened and what can legally be proven here.

Just because he wasn't convicted doesn't mean he didn't rape her, it means that the DA didn't feel he could obtain a conviction.

Just because the legal system failed it doesn't mean the league's system has to fail too.

This is probably where I split ways with all of you on this subject then.

I agree. In my opinion at an absolute minimum he should be suspended for four weeks. Otherwise the league is doing a disservice to itself.

I will be pissed if he only gets 2 weeks. In a case like this, the league should make a real statement against it. It's not like he smoked pot which is only damaging to the player himself. (well unless driving etc afterwards)

Rape is a extremely serious thing. Even if it wasn't actually rape, the fact that he was in a position with a women he just met, is enough to warrant such a penalty.

I would give him 4 weeks suspension minimum with a warning that the next one will be a minimum of a year and possibly barred from ever doing anything with the NFL again.

Huh?

Who hasn't just met a woman and then had intercourse with her?

You don't see anything wrong with an NFL QB having sex in a public bathroom with a woman he just met while his bodyguards block access to that bathroom from the womans friends?

You also don't believe the NFL should allow their players to do this without repercussions even though it directly reflects on their business? :laugh2:

Who hasn't had sex in a public place? Just about everyone's first time is in a car, which is a public place.

Do you honestly think the NFL would just suspend one of it's star players and faces just on a whim of a he said she said without actually spending many hours, lawyers and investigators to look into the system...Seriously?

Think about that.

I am pretty sure the NFL does not just read some internet rumors or columns in a newspaper and just say...good enough for us let's suspend one of the leagues stars without doing an exhaustive investigation into the matter.

He is an NFL player. If you are a public figure and your privately can directly impact what you do for a living, then you shouldn't be doing that.
