Competition for Maher?

has anyone seen anything about Dallas bringing in a kicker to at least compete with Maher? I googled it and didn’t see anything but I may have missed something.

I honestly see Kicker as a big need, I hold my breath every time Maher steps on the field.

Underrated need. Can’t win with that kicker

You need another leg just for training camp reps. I'd be surprised if they don't bring someone in.

It's an adventure every time he lines up on the right hash. Honestly, it's an adventure anytime he lines up to kick a FG. I hope they do bring in some competition. It would be a shame if the season is derailed by close losses due to your kicker.

What it should do is force the offense to get more aggressive.

Linehan too often just called 3 straight running plays inside the 40 and we would end up missing a 50+ FG.

Now I expect us to take more shots down field with Moore calling plays.

Get the kicker closer.

Score TDs.

Just let him kick PAT.

No more adventure and no more need to have DAK win in the 4th Qt.

Maher was bottom 6 by make percentage. Baiely was bottom 2 if you can believe it.

Regular percentage can be misleading as we don't have average distance per attempt. And small sample sizes a kick here or there can really swing things.

Either way not good.

We were really lucky with Bailey until his injury.

I think it forced Garrett last year to actually go for some 4th downs at times.

Throw 3 downs in a row..

Bootleg and move DAK left then next play move him right..

next play QB draw

Then kick a 25 yd FG if you have to.

Yea but I was hoping to see a little more urgency for the position. Like using a draft pick or signing a UDFA in the first couple of hrs... or both. They seem complacent at Kicker.

I’m not even looking for a slam dunk. Just don’t wanna be standing up in my living room with my butt hole puckered up every time Dallas kicks a 30 yrd FG...

That's right, my bad……………..I meant to say the opposite. He is good from long distance but inconsistent on shorter attempts.
