Yep, my dog was a big part of the reason I went to talk to my neighbors the first time, about 10 years ago. He hated fireworks. Thunder didn't bother him a bit, even when it shook the whole house, but fireworks are a different story, for some reason.I live right outside the city limits of San Antonio and there are no noise ordinances or restrictions on fireworks. We have a lot of fireworks stands on the roads around the neighborhood because they have to be sold outside the city limits. The people in my neighborhood put on a very impressive July 4th and NYE firework show. NYE literally looks like an hour long grand finale and the entire neighborhood is lit up.
The problem is there will be random people popping fireworks a good week before and after the actual holiday. The fireworks themselves don't bother me, but my dog is terrified of them. She hides behind the couch all night and won't go outside after hearing the first firework. I need to make sure I feed her and get her outside before it gets dark and hope someone doesn't start early. As a result, I dread those 2 holidays.
Nice that it took about ten years for them to get up the balls to do it again....Wonder how long it'll last this time.
