I'll start out by saying that I have no qualms with moving on from Dez. I wouldn't have signed him to the last contract in the first place.

I feel as though the answer for replacing Dez, his production, but more importantly what he brought to the offense was let's bring in as many average wide receivers as possible and competition will drive home the best talent, and that talent will be conducive to having success in the passing game.

In reality, it will be very difficult for so many receivers to get on the same page with Dak and when ultimately we break down to 5-6 with 3 being primary. This is almost the exact same problem they had with the LG position, and by the time they decided (first they made the wrong choice) neither player had really received enough first-team reps.

I do think that these receivers will be more "dak friendly", but the resources they've had to use to get these receivers could have been used to help us in other areas.

I don't love the LVE pick. I don't think finesse linebackers, particularly on MLB work. I really hope to be wrong about this guy, but I don't love the pick. Especially behind our defensive line that doesn't have the size to let these linebackers make a ton of plays in the backfield.

On the fence with Williams. I hope he works out because our offense is going to need great line play.

I like the drafting of Mike White. He is everything Dak isn't. Not that I think he is going to replace Dak, but Dak will likely see him excel in the very points where he needs to improve. Should hopefully help push him to improve and he needs to improve.

We went offense in 2 of the first 3 picks. I think that was a mistake. Garrett continues to sink resources into the offense, because he doesn't want the defense to outpace him. If we don't make the playoffs next year and we have a top 10 defense but a 15-20th offense... Garrett is fired.

Garrett is the issue. Not the talent or the way its been acquired.

I was glad to see Dez go because he not only sucked but he was a real peoblem and liability for Dak. Those who are worried about losing Dez' production shouldn't because it was artificially inflated (bad) stats anyway. Almost anything with a pulse will be better than Dez.

It's absurd to worry about Dak getting to know these wid receivers. He learned just fine his rookie year and was 13-3 in spite of never played with any of them before.

Is it easier to play with a player you don't know that always runs his route the way it is supposed to be be run and gets open or a guy who never runs a route the same way twice and can't get open.

I'm willing to give the Cowboys the benefit of the doubt on this draft class. I'm a bit worried if Marinelli gives his seal of approval in apick though because I think he must be on another team's payroll or something. He totally sucks as a talent evaluator.

Also, the Cowboys must have liked Switzer a lot. Oakland wanted him badly and gave up a higher drafted player to get him.

I just worry about big plays through the air.

Big plays correlate so much to winning and with Dak throwing and the pass targets we have I think it’s very worrisome.

The coaches just have to step up this year. Bottom line.

I don’t think Dallas is done acquiring either.. I’d keep an eye on Denver’s WRs.

You should be concerned if Zeke comes out this year the same disaster he was last season. Out of shape and slow...

This team is still going to be a run first team, however, they went out and got speed guys to threaten the top off the defense to spread out the box. And when I say speed guys, I mean fast and precise route running guys, dudes that can create separation. Once you start doing that the defensive backs will back off and you have some room in the box to run.

Whoa, stop! Who initiated negotiations on that trade,anyway?,,,o_O
Man,#10 was an untapped talent, & apparently the cockiness THAT rookie walking dickmuscle exuded must've rattled the GARRETT enough to place his name on the bon voyage list,,,,SHEESE! ,,,I shouldn't be forced to think for everyone around here:rolleyes:

While I understand the concern over LVE being a finesse LB I’m not sure I’d worry too much.
Sean Lee can be defined as a finesse LB and he made the pro bowl as a MLB. Also we don’t that LVE is really that finesse yet. He seems a lot like Lee. A tackle machine who has a nose for the ball, 6 turnovers in 14 games.

We did? Who?

Do you follow FA and the draft?
Sure do. The majority of the offensive snaps will be taken by who? Hurns, Gallup, T Will, Beasley..

Which of these guys is a burner?
None of them so I was hoping I missed something or you know something we don’t.
Don’t get me all excited like that.

Hurns, Gallup and Beasley can all create separation with their route running ability. It makes all the difference in the world when you can get DBs to give you a cushion. Add Austin to that list and we have some guys that can RAC.

This will be a very interesting season, it could be brilliant or we could go 7-9 or 8-8. Seems that we will be very good or it will all just go to crap.

Finesse at 260lbs?? OK

That is absurd....... Dak doesn't need to learn from rookie Mike White...........lol

You changed from what you said. You went from speed taking the top off the defense to guys running routes and getting YAC.

Tavon Austin
D Thompson
Tavon Austin who averages 9 ypc on his career and will be a 3rd down RB if he wants to make the team.
And D Thompson who will not be on the field the majority of snaps.

These are the guys who will threaten the defenses so much the opposing defensive coordinators will let Zeke run so they can allocate resources to making sure these 2 don’t beat you deep in the rare circumstances they are actually on the field?

Hurns is a good route runner? that's good to hear

Dez, Witten and TWill aren't exactly burners......addiction by subtraction

Even the new guys Gallup and Wilson have quicks

Don't get locked in to some silly take just to make a post
