Concerns about 2018

The problem with LG was that everyone pretty much sucked. And Jonathan Cooper just so happen to suck a little less. Had nothing to do with chemistry. Hence he wasn't resigned and we drafted a new LG who only allowed 1 sack in 3 years at Texas at the tackle spot. I'm not saying chemistry isn't important because it is, but chemistry happens a lot quicker when you dont suck.

You changed from what you said. You went from speed taking the top off the defense to guys running routes and getting YAC.

You take the top off a defense when you create 1v1 on the outside. You can also take the top off when you can get the defense to expand the size of the box..get the LBs to creep to the outside and help underneath which in turn creates room for Zeke.

That is absurd....... Dak doesn't need to learn from rookie Mike White...........lol

This is a life tip for you and I really mean it.

When you quote someone and the very word you use doesn't show up in the original quote, you may be off base.

Dez, Witten and TWill aren't exactly burners......addiction by subtraction

Even the new guys Gallup and Wilson have quicks

Don't get locked in to some silly take just to make a post
Your attempting to change the conversation to make a point. Don’t get caught trying to fight when you are on the same side as I am.
Slow down. Back up and read the thread.

You said we didn't sign anyone that had "take the top off speed" and I gave you two

You then backtracked to talk about snaps

So I countered with general improvement in team speed since you pivoted

Sure do. The majority of the offensive snaps will be taken by who? Hurns, Gallup, T Will, Beasley..

Which of these guys is a burner?
None of them so I was hoping I missed something or you know something we don’t.
Don’t get me all excited like that.
I did not know much of Gallop when we drafted him but if you go watch the kids tape, he can get some separation. He might not be fastest WR but he is not slow, he has decent speed and what stood out was his hands, the kid can make some really nice catches and he runs some nice clean routes. Down side, he is a rookie, gonna take a minute to get to grow into an NFL level type WR. Not saying he will be a HOFer, too early to tell but I have high hopes for the kid!

What’s your point?
Do you even know my position or do you just throw out weird random points trying to argue with people that you actually agree with.
He weighed 256 at the Combine..... I rounded up since that was weeks ago

You decided to get snarky over a few pounds so I responded by saying he will be well over 260 when the games start IMO after training with an NFL team for a few months

I'll start out by saying that I have no qualms with moving on from Dez. I wouldn't have signed him to the last contract in the first place.

I feel as though the answer for replacing Dez, his production, but more importantly what he brought to the offense was let's bring in as many average wide receivers as possible and competition will drive home the best talent, and that talent will be conducive to having success in the passing game.

In reality, it will be very difficult for so many receivers to get on the same page with Dak and when ultimately we break down to 5-6 with 3 being primary. This is almost the exact same problem they had with the LG position, and by the time they decided (first they made the wrong choice) neither player had really received enough first-team reps.

I do think that these receivers will be more "dak friendly", but the resources they've had to use to get these receivers could have been used to help us in other areas.

I don't love the LVE pick. I don't think finesse linebackers, particularly on MLB work. I really hope to be wrong about this guy, but I don't love the pick. Especially behind our defensive line that doesn't have the size to let these linebackers make a ton of plays in the backfield.

On the fence with Williams. I hope he works out because our offense is going to need great line play.

I like the drafting of Mike White. He is everything Dak isn't. Not that I think he is going to replace Dak, but Dak will likely see him excel in the very points where he needs to improve. Should hopefully help push him to improve and he needs to improve.

We went offense in 2 of the first 3 picks. I think that was a mistake. Garrett continues to sink resources into the offense, because he doesn't want the defense to outpace him. If we don't make the playoffs next year and we have a top 10 defense but a 15-20th offense... Garrett is fired.
Our major assets as a team are on offense.

It is going to always be addressed first.

That should be understood.

The defense on the other hand needs lots of coaching like Kris Richards and Marinelli.

Those guys are silent 12th and 13th players for the defense.

We will be much improved on defense.

Please show me where I said he was going to learn from the rookie.
I already did but here you go Repetey

If you don't equate Learning with Improving that is your ignorance

I just worry about big plays through the air.

Big plays correlate so much to winning and with Dak throwing and the pass targets we have I think it’s very worrisome.

The coaches just have to step up this year. Bottom line.

I don’t think Dallas is done acquiring either.. I’d keep an eye on Denver’s WRs.
It’s very hard to go 75 yards, time after time without some chunk plays
We need some chunk plays but that doesn’t mean you have to have a 4.3 guy but a guy who runs good routes and can get behind a defender with double moves
If we can create a couple chunk plays a game it’s gonna be hard to win

You didn’t say anything to disprove what I said.
Telling me we signed a guy who isn’t even playing WR doesn’t mean anything. Just like telling me we signed a guy who will rarely see the field.

Since you are dense please explain how either of these guys are going to change the defensive game plan against us.

I was glad to see Dez go because he not only sucked but he was a real peoblem and liability for Dak. Those who are worried about losing Dez' production shouldn't because it was artificially inflated (bad) stats anyway. Almost anything with a pulse will be better than Dez.

It's absurd to worry about Dak getting to know these wid receivers. He learned just fine his rookie year and was 13-3 in spite of never played with any of them before.

Is it easier to play with a player you don't know that always runs his route the way it is supposed to be be run and gets open or a guy who never runs a route the same way twice and can't get open.

I'm willing to give the Cowboys the benefit of the doubt on this draft class. I'm a bit worried if Marinelli gives his seal of approval in apick though because I think he must be on another team's payroll or something. He totally sucks as a talent evaluator.

Also, the Cowboys must have liked Switzer a lot. Oakland wanted him badly and gave up a higher drafted player to get him.

You spout off this stuff about Dez but never back it up with any thing to prove it. Doesn’t matter if you like him or not, the bottom line is he’s the 2-3 best WR in Cowboys history. And guess what? I can back it up all day long with any stat you want choose?

I do agree with you about Marinelli, so hey we agree about something..

I guess I can understand your logic now on other subjects because I see that you believe because a player is drafted higher he is the better player. WTH is this world coming to. We can sit here and name player after player who was drafted lower or not drafted at all that are some of the greatest players of all time. Either your trolling again, or you need some draft101

I have high hopes for him also. But I’m not counting on him to be a burner than forces defensese to game plan against.

Since you have such a hard time following a conversation I will repeat that I never called him a finesse Lb. and him adding weight before the combine proves my point further. Which is he has never payed that heavy. So if people thought he played soft or finesse they were watching a guy who wasn’t 260. Or 256 as you corrected yourself saying.
