Concerns despite the win

I'm most interested in seeing how this D performs against QB's that are more middle of the road. I don't expect Dallas to beat a team like New Orleans without scoring a lot of points, but if the D holds their own against the Eli's and Foles of the world then the team can have a decent record. At least for now a scrub qb looked like a scrub qb...that often wasn't the case last year.

They did what they needed to do today........have Romo tone it down some, drive the bus, so to speak, while he continues to sharpen his skills. The same should be applied next week and hopefully he is sharper against NO.

He is not magically going to be the old Romo in a week or two.

Exactly! Is he playing like the Romo we know? No, but he is still making critical plays.

With the line getting more in sync, Romo should get himself in tune in no time.

Bottom line is Romo played better today than he did last week and should only improve. Once the Titans closed the gap to 16-10, Dallas let Romo take over on the next drive and he was 6 of 9 for 65 yards and a TD on that series. As for the concerns about his lack of arm strength and mobility.....Tom Brady never had either his entire career; and he did okay for himself. This offense can still be effective getting 15 to 20 yard chunks in the pass game instead of the 75 yard bombs.

I do and Murray played well aside from 1 fumble today.

He took the yards this great line made for him. Randle would have done as well.
See my reply on his fumbles. 9 fumbles in 564 att. About once every 2 games.

Murray is obviously more talented than Randle. I guess you think that Emmitt Smith was just another back that happened to play behind a great offensive line?

Doesn't matter how good your offensive line is if your back doesn't have the vision or talent to exploit it.

Not making excuses for Murray, but to me it looked like his fumble was caused by a collision with Devin Street. Still shouldn't have happened, but no Titan stripped the ball out. It was a case of "friendly fire".

My concern is that the D gave up over 300 yards despite only being on the field for 19 minutes. At that pace, if the time of possession were flipped the Titans would have approached 700 yards of offense.

Right. If we are to win this year. It's running the ball. Chewing the clock. And keeping the defense off the field. That's really our only shot.
That defense will crumble and fall apart quickly..if it has to carry the offense.....

Did you really just call out Demarco Murray? Did you not see Randle and Dunbar running up the backs of their own linemen? Murray was prodigal today.

As for his fumbling "issues".... The guy had ONE fumble all season last season. I think I would hold off on proclaiming that a chronic issue.

What game where you watching? Randle ran well when he got his chances.

this guy doesn't have that vision or talent. Even bringing up ESmith as an analogy is a joke. He leaves tons of yards on the field and has no where near his ESmith's talent.

Doesn't matter how good your Oline is? Really? You follow tag-football then ?

Some of those yards were in prevent. Plus the bend don't break philosophy.

I think the Tampa 2 is a bend don't break defense by design. The D really tightened up in the red zone though, gotta love that. Plus I'm gonna predict Carter gets multiple punt blocks this season.

Yeah, I think he is washed up. Yeah I think that. And maybe forever recovering.
Was that not clear?

Really? Murray doesn't have Emmitt's talent? You sure?

And yea it doesn't matter how good your offensive line is if you don't have a running back capable of exploiting said offensive line.

What does tag football have to do with anything?

8.7 yards per attempt Randle.

5.8 yards per attempt Demarco.

Do I think Randle could have performed as well? Hellz yes

I agree that he doesn't have great instinctual vision, but he's a tough inside runner and works hard for extra yards. He dropped a sure first down on a third down throw that just can't happen but at this point I think we should say he had a great game and take the win. It's a long season and I have a feeling all the running backs are going to get plenty of snaps and that includes Ryan Williams who I think would also tear it up behind this line.

Can't wait to see what happens next week.

You lose all credibility by saying that an outstanding Oline is only useful with a great back which Demarco is far from.
Wow dude. Yeah, in tag football, they have no line in which case it wouldn't matter.
Look Randle 8.7 avg. today Demarco 5.8. Does this show you something?
