One thing I know for sure if Romo was ever on the open market he would not be there for long. The guy is one of the top QB's in the NFL

I have complete faith in Romo in the clutch. He's the biggest reason that since he took over in 2006 I never have a feeling in a game that we're out of it or that he won't continue to play hard and try to win it.

Romo was, and continues to be, the absolute least of the Cowboys issues.

Romo turned a corner for me this season. I saw something different at the end that I have never seen before.

The kid became a leader and the central playmaker.

Now some claim they knew it all along. I will not argue that point, although i don't believe it.

But, Romo crossed into rarified air this season and with an offensive line to protect him, will bring home multiple trophies.

Jerry, the ball is in your court now.

I get nervous too, but then again, i would get nervous even if peyton were the quarterback for us.

With the group he has around him ( maybe pick up a slot reciever in the draft), and if the line plays well next year, i honestly would be surprised if we didn't make the superbowl. Our defense is getting better and they are really young.

You may not believe it, but it's a fact that many, many people on this site claimed that Romo's abilities and progress over the last three seasons were obvious and that you had to have your head impacted not to see it prior to 2009.

Regardless, better late than never, I suppose. We're glad to have you aboard for the time being.

And these were the same people who claimed Stoerner had "it."

But what amazes me is the illogical hatred for those that wanted to wait and see.

There are some very vocal people who rip into anyone that ever questioned him.

Maybe you should seek help.

Even before Aikman retired there were those looking for the next great QB.

They ran from one thing to the next as the players they coveted failed.

I'm not impressed when someone plays all the numbers on a roulette board and then does a happy dance because one of them hit.

Boards like this one and others for all fans are built on people wanting to flaunt their "eye for talent." It's a Johnson measuring endeavor.

Frankly, fans don't know, they hope.

Sometimes hope is rewarded.

No, they weren't. This is just something you made up.

Maybe, though not for the fact that I dislike it when people say stupid things for no reason other than that they want attention. I don't hate them, though. I think they should use resources like CZ to get educated, and then go to bat for their opinions on topics that are interesting and that haven't already been decided two years prior.

This year was Tony's third probowl. Pretty sure you're the only one in the thread doing a happy dance about the gem you just discovered.

I did not make that up. I have been around this and other sites when they were both at other locations and watched the great unwashed leap from branch to branch like a crazed squirrel looking for a nut.

Maybe you need to let go of your hubris, and just accept that some people aren't into fads.

They weren't the same people. Which you'd know if you started paying attention to who's saying what and realized that some people know what they're talking about on sports message boards and are right more often than others.

It's not that hard to find the guys on the site who played in college, or who coach at some level, or who have contacts in the organization or friends or family in the league and pay attention to what they have to say.

Regardless, there was a very small but vocal confederacy of dunces out in the cold trying to decide whether or not Tony Romo had what it took to be successful in this league after his second probowl selection.

I'm going to reply in spite of the fact that this thread exist because you had a thought while playing Madden.

Like most will say I am very confident with Romo. Especially compared to the QB you were playing against in Madden (eli manning). Imagine how you would feel tomorrow if you woke up and turned on the TV to see Jerry traded Romo for Eli? Or almost any other QB for that matter. Cutler, Palmer, McNabb, Eli, Gerrard, Rodgers, ect ect. You would probably be pretty upset that Dallas traded away Romo. If you are not then its best you just go back to playing Madden. Maybe you can trade him to the eagles in video game world for Vick. Then the QB sneak would be a weapon for you.
For the record, Eli did win a Super Bowl, and yes he was a factor in winning it. Just for the record, I know we're all in love and feeling deep emotional feelings for the guy, but I still see issues, mainly when he has pressure, and most QBs will experience pressure throughout a game at some point, and you have to rise above it.

So I like Romo, I have confidence but I'm more than a regular season huge stat guy, I kinda like Super Bowls.

Oh, hooray. So nice to be back in the offseason. Maybe we can get some insight into why he didn't bring the NFC team all the way back in the probowl, too. Not sure what Madden says about that.

I wish somebody kept stats regarding how well QBs play at the ends of halves and at the end of games.

AdamJT13 has those stats, lol. :lmao:

I'm supremely confident in Tony Romo.

Thanks for blocking David Diehl.

Someone tell Mario Williams to ease up a bit.

I'd draft me a tackle to pay him back in the preseason.

Extremely confident in Romo, the only QB I'd want over Romo is Peyton Manning and that's it. Romo is the QB that will take us the furthest over the next 5-6 years, we go as he goes.

Let's not forget there are MANY game at which time he brought us back only to see the Fricking defense give it away.

1st Giant game last yr. Brought us back to take the lead, D let Eli drove down field and score.

2nd G men game. He keep bring us back but D keeps giving up Big plays (2 TD within 2 min or something like that?)

Game against Wash 3 yrs ago, he brought us into field goal range to only have it blocked and Wash scored.

Seattle game, botched FG attempt. As QB, he brought us into winning position.

Charger game...he managed a 98 yd drive only to watch D give back a TD immediately and deflated the team.

Just off the top of my head
