If the offense is firing like it should, the defense doesnt not have to be top of the league

Health on both sides of the ball will make this team look completely different from last year

I have hope but lack confidence in the brain trust to turn the ship because nothing happens if they don't.

It is a strange situation, to say the least. They can just keep doing what they've been doing and still be rewarded for their incompetency.

I am confident this doesn't change even with the son taking over because I actually think he's worse. I have lots of experience in dealing with entitled second generation owners of businesses and it usually isn't an improvement because one does not inherit passion for something.

And truth be told, I save my hope for other things. I really don't care whether they fix this or not and if they were to even win another ring, that does not improve my life one iota.

At some point, confidence or hope became complacency as I accepted what is and will not change. But I am OK with it because like you and many others here, I have those memories of when this did matter and I can still love the laundry and the memories.

My eternal hope resides in Jethro’s passing. I’m fairly certain Son and the Siblings won’t operate in the same exact manner.

They will at least be held more accountable to each other.

Hope, but not much. Quinn has a hell of a job ahead of him this year. We had a monumentally awful defense last year. Wish him luck but LOL we were awful.

Truth is that the teams have info we dont have. Alot are liking Jabril Cox and yet he had shoulder surgery that may never be 100%. I didnt know that until this morning. We have to trust McClay and the boys and hold off judgement until we see. I jave my pet cats too but there are 31 other teams drafting.

The last quarter century has been hard on us long time Cowboys fans. Year after year, hoping for some kind of change that translates into at the very least a deep playoff run keeps me and many others hanging on.

So it raises a question- Do you have confidence this team can change its fortunes or do you just have hope?

When I watched that clown show of a war room last night, I was reminded once again as a Cowboys fan that HOPE is all I have. I HOPE someday we return to past glory. I HOPE we can improve from mediocrity or worse. I HOPE this front office has learned from its seemingly endless past mistakes. I HOPE this offseason brings an influx of talent and upgrade. I HOPE.

Am I CONFIDENT we are headed in the right direction? No. My brother-in-law is a huge fan of the Broncos. Was talking with him yesterday and he was clearly confident in his team’s ability to re-tool. I thought, “I wish I had some of that confidence.” At least I still have HOPE.

As a Cowboys fan at this point, all I can do is HOPE.

Another realist and honest post Bob. Many of us out there looking for any sign of encouragement and for me it’s been Groundhog Day every year since the mid 90’s. Saddest part (as many have pointed out) we’re under the thumb of FO ignorance. Until that is changed (if ever) I will not buy into anything this team sells.

Yep. But I’m not sure why fans think anything’s changing with Jethro?

Perhaps some of our fans are the bigger fools.

Surely some of the top 5 prospects out of the top 100 will bring some support for us on defense.

I think they're going too much defense in this draft.
That offensive-line needs help, too.
I wanted them to get a solid Oline in the 3rd/4th round....but it didn't happen....

dang, not sure how long you have been a "fan" but it sure did take you a long time to figure this out. We couldn't win if they were only two teams in the whole league.
