But they arent held to the CBA. that is the bottomline in all of this. If you are released and are seeking employment then you are still privy to the CBA.

Additionally former players cannot vote on NFLPA representation. they are receiving benefits from the NFLPA pension/retirement fund but thats about it.

i'm not so sure thats the case. he was on the roster when that was written so he would have miised the first 8 games. but if you remember ricky williams leaving the nfl he still had a suspension when he came back.i still think he will have to be on a roster before the suspension starts. but thats only one game difference.
