so is calling me out and accusing me of having sour grapes when I was actually defending a team i absolutely loathe....

if you go back and look at the Big 12 Standings since 1999, I bet that out of those 10 years.....UT and OU shared the top 2 records in all but about 2-3 years.

Wow I figured the cheesy smiley was enough of a giveaway at my joking.

Hey guys - I think some of you are missing the intent of this thread I started. The bottom line is that OU got picked and UT didn't and now is the time to set aside our differences, congratulate the Sooners & get on with our lives. Regurgitating the same argument over and over again is useless and accomplishes nothing. If you feel that you still need to be heard, cool - but do it on another thread while the rest of us make fun of you and secretly talk about you behind your back. ;)

Ah so NOW its ok to bring up time lines and such with other teams. What about the most recent time line where your winning out against Oklahoma came earlier before we blasted the team that served you defeat? That's because when you lose during the season makes all the difference.

What's OK is to get a clue here. In any other BCS conference, OU would not have gone. Everybody brings up Tech and says, well what about Tech? Well, what about Tech? It sucks for them too because they will likely not get to go to a BCS bowl at all but that has nothing to do with Texas. We didn't take Tech out of the running. "Oh so now it's OK". You know what, nothing about this is OK and you or any other Sooner fan should be saying anything remotely sounding like it's OK. Your going, nothing to be done about that but lets just be clear here. In any other BCS conference, your staying home. Texas has beaten both teams that are playing for the Big 12 Championship convincingly. Your going, we're not but enough already with the Tech BS. We didn't take Tech out of the running. They did it to themselves by playing an overtime game with Nebraska, getting stomped in Norman and struggling in a statement game against Baylor.

None of that can be applied to Texas.

Well, now Texas isn't in the equation either... and that's not Oklahoma's fault.

I don't understand how Texas fans can say, "ignore Texas Tech, because they're ranked too low" and then complain when the same ranking system places them below Oklahoma.

It's pretty simple. Because every other major BCS confrence does it that way. Tech didn't get jumped in the polls. They earned there spot. I said earlier that I thought it was unfair but hey, what the heck did Texas have to do with that?

congratulations to the sooners.

i didn't think they'd win in stillwater, i was wrong.

Looks like they lost their second string middle linebacker and are now down to scraps.

with or without box, ou should easily knock off mizzou. i don't think it really matters against florida, assuming that is who they play.

i think ou has the firepower to go all day with anyone, but ou doesn't play well when they get pushed around early and believe me, the gators are gonna go out there and intimidate some sooners.

anyway, without box, ou loses and probably loses big in the BCS.

i think they are deserving, just as i thought texas was deserving. but we all saw it coming, so maybe we didn't get screwed. big, impressive wins over top teams for your closing arguments are hard to deny.

I dont understand your argument. Oklahoma can score all day on anyone but doesnt do well when pushed around.

Just what was OSU doing the other night on defense? Having at tea-party? They had shut down Oklahomas running game the start. Bradford was just the heisman candidate that he is and made them pay for it.

Gresham came up BIG w/ some acrobat catches.

By all means Hank - please keep picking against Oklahoma. It appears to be working out well for us. :p:

We'll see. IF you guys beat Mizzou IN cold Kansas City --- Florida will beat you and beat you bad.

If it turns out to be 'Bama, Nick Saban will just plain out coach Bob Stoops.

If I were a Sooner fan, I'd be dang nervous. Imagine if you win the conference, then go on to play for the ultimate prize of them all in college sports. Then, it happens. You get behind and you realize you're in for another long night. OU loses, and the masses look at you with disgust as you just lost ANOTHER BCS bowl game, and third BCS Title game since '03.

You will be nothing more than the laughing stock of college football.

However, if you defeat the SEC Champion in the BCS National Championship, I will take my hat off, take a sip of cold beer, and congratulate you for becoming the greatest team in college football.

If we win in KC this weekend please everyone count the Sooners out just like in 2000 against FSU. We play terrible as favorites (in bowl games) but Stoops' teams thrives as the under dog. I pray that the media gives them no chance against either Florida or Bama. If it is Bama Stoops won't be foolish enough to let Saban's folks in and around our practices ala the Sugar Bowl in 04. Saban learned from his mentor how to "gameplan".

I'd rather choke in Bowl games then be a player sitting at home eating a bucket of chicken wings and watching the game on a big screen.

Beats sitting at home. At least I'd rather have a shot at the big game. But for whatever team you root for, you can hang your head high that they will "proudly" be watching the big game from their homes.

Deleted the wrong message.

It's just tough to watch OU destroy the conference's image every year on the big stage.

A hard-fought close game against Florida or Bama would be nothing to be embarrassed about, regardless of the outcome.

But yeah, if OU were to lay an egg in the final game, the way we did against USC, then it would be embarrassing, especially given recent history.

But if we were to win, I think it would erase a lot of those bad memories in the minds of the Sooner fans and in the minds of the public.

If OU beats either Alabama or Florida for the National Championship, nobody should question who the best team is.

If OU loses to either Alabama or Florida, this system has some expainin' to do.

And yes, if it's a hard fought battle and OU shows they can hang on the big stage with other fellow heavyweights, I will show some respect.

The OU faithful will come tumbling down though no matter how close the game turns out, if they lose.

Oklahoma needs to win these BCS games. I agree. But...

Texas also has to get there to even talk about wins. Oklahoma at least gets there.

Gotta get there to win right Hank?
