Very good D-cord , deserved to get into Super Bowl. But with the offense they had today , it may not be enough

He's a good defensive coach, and he took his share of shots when he was here too. More than his share, really, because that's what some of you guys like to do.

Bigger congrats to Demarcus Ware, while we're at it. I'm so glad DEN won.

Oh, and I just noticed the Texans former HC and former DC are both Super Bowl bound.

Haha, silly Texans.

To give them some credit Kubiak was a horrible HC there and I'm not sure I'd still consider him a guy who turned the corner, I want to see him without a previous SB level team.

He simply isn't HC material. There was no way we could have kept him around after the Jags and Packers game back in 2010, easily the most ashamed I've ever been with the Cowboys.

But him as a DC, fantastic. I thought it was dumb even when Houston let him go due to a slight down year.

Offense only put up 7 points against Pack. If I remember correctly it was Garrett that was running that turnover fest of an offense. Yet Wade got chopped.

Wade Phillips to the Super Bowl. Jason Garrett to the Senior Bowl. There is justice in this world.
wonder what justice this is? did JG tell the team to quit on Wade? Wade was just a bad HC I dont think JG is a good HC but i dont ever see this team quitting on him.

of course not. JG gives good speeches and the team is using the injury excuse to excuse this season.

And yet, once Wade left, there was an uptick in our offense.

Stop revising history people, our team gave up on Wade.

8-8 for 3 straight seasons is not much of an uptick. And if there was an "uptick" that's even more damaging to Garrett as he could have been deliberately sabotaging his HC.

Under Wade, Cowboys had TWICE as many playoff appearances in HALF as many seasons. To heck with upticks.

Pretty sure someone else was calling the plays. Didn't see Phillips' lips move once....That play sheet is all distraction for the fans.

The conspiracy theory on that was that Garrett was sandbagging prior to getting the HC gig. There's no getting around the crazy if the crazy wants to have its way.

So tired of this stuff, generally. The caterwauling about Wade Phillips was insane before he was fired. Yes, the same caterwauling spilled over to everybody on his staff, but by the time the guy was let go, even saying he was a good DC automatically made you a biased homer incapable of doing anything other than defending the Cowboys at all costs. Same with Sean Payton. Same with Mike Zimmer.

The reality is, these guys were pretty good coaches, and the reasons we weren't winning more games in their tenures had a lot more to do with personnel than it did with the staff. As a rule, the NFL tends to be a pretty talent-dependent league, surprisingly enough.

Garrett was the co-pilot during that 1-7 season and Jerry has admitted that Wade had no input or play calling ability at that time. Garrett had carte blanch over an offense that had like 21 turnovers during that 1-7 stretch

Many in the media as well as fans saw Garrett as much as responsible as Wade. Usually if the plane crashes you don't pat the co-pilot on the back and promote him

So some see it as justice that Wade is going to the SB while Garrett stands in the losers circle.

Some fellas are just better off being a coordinator. Phillips is a top notch, if not one of the best defensive coordinators, but he just didn't fit as head coach.

How is that justice?, you can argue Garrett should be fired, but you can't that wade shouldn't have been, he lost the team his last year here

You can sit here and state whatever you want after Wade left. Here's what we were after he was fired: 1-7, he wasn't going to have a winning season that year.

Once Romo went down, we lost 17-35 to the freakin' Jags, and 7 to 45 against the Packers. Remember that Packers game? Players pointing fingers, Jenkins letting a player walk into the end zone.

He lost the team and deserved getting fired.
