Connor Williams

So it was OK to consider them wasted picks, because they weren’t rookie starters?
Nope. Didn’t say it was.
You are coming into this thread and trying to draw equivalents with Jaylon, Taco and Connor when I haven’t seen anyone say Connor was a wasted pick. Only that he isn’t ready to start and shouldn’t be counted on to start when he clearly isn’t ready.

Nice try though.

Nice try. You need to go back and re-read my post. I never claimed anyone said Williams a wasted pick.

Looked like he controlled Atkins pretty well on the nice completion to Gallup and on the TD to TWill.

Only his 2nd game.

I'd worry about safety.

Then why are you bringing Jaylon and Taco into this discussion about Williams?

I’m tired of trying to explain this to you. We will just agree to disagree.
You can’t explain it because you tried doing exactly what I called you out for doing.

Next time come stronger. Like Connor, not your best night. It happens.

Everyone says he needs a year to gain mass and muscle, why the F didn't we draft someone that already has those traits? Once I saw the Hyundai I knew we were in for trouble, an OL gives his father a Ford F-150 not a Hyundai!

My objection is with Dallas and it's "world class" OL going into the season with less than zero depth along the front. They signed a JAG Fleming that isn't any better than Chaz Green to replace him at the all-important swing tackle position then they pencil in an undersized 2nd round ROOKIE to freaking start at LG. Sure, the kid will likely be a good player for Dallas eventually but you don't count on him to start this year. Honestly it looks like they are just planning on getting all their young players some experience this season and taking their lumps.

Maybe I watched a different game than the rest of you but I thought he looked really good at times. Now, I need to go back and focus on him every play but i generally focused on him and was impressed.
Yeah go back and watch how fast his guy was in Daks face.

He pulls in space better than 90% of starting NFL lineman - he's damn quick pulling.
His pass protection is solid but his feet get the best of him .... Strange, but true. He whiffs on gap assignment.... Which can be corrected !

He does get beat, so to say......

He is definitely not strong enough to handle NFL DTs. He gets beat on bull rushes. I think they give him a chance now but I can see him backing up Looney as the season starts.

Maybe an off-season will help him with strength but he just looks undersized. Mark Stepnoski was a little small too, but he made up for it with strength and technique. Perhaps Williams can do the same someday.
