Signed by Cowboys Conor Riley hired as Cowboys' Offensive Line coach

Again, hate to be positive but, to me, for years the oline coaching and the run scheme has been trash. Seems like the new head coach sees that too. Even when Zeke was putting up numbers, it was him getting hit after 2 yards and driving for another 2.5. I haven't seen a big run lane since 2016. This is a much needed commitment to the run game.

Now give me your opinion on why he should be on the team. You know why he is on the team in the first place, right?
Everyone knows he was the top name on their board when they were on the clock, hence the pick.

He should be on the team because when used correctly he is a weapon. That was true when he was drafted and is still true today. What McCarthy did to him (and other players) is criminal.

There was a reason everyone in the stadium got excited when Deuce came in. He’s an exciting player like Turpin.

IF IT WASN'T FOR DEUCE we wouldn't even be thinking about this guy! Lol

Having Deuce on the roster is not why they hired Riley.

In fact, it probably didn't have anything to do with it at all. It's just a coincidence.
What Riley did for Deuce is part of why they hired him, but you're probably right, in that he wasn't hired because Deuce is here.

Dare I say it from me..
"Cautious optimism."

Good job Cowboys.
Credit where credit is due.
Was an absolute must have hire over Dinosaur Solari who was ruining the potential of the oline.

Now, fingers are crossed in acquiring the right RB(s) and improving the tackles' play. I am somewhat confident in whatever guard center guard combo they throw out there being effective.

He isn't small he's short. He goes down easy because he isn't being used right. He was the top name on their board when they were on the clock.

Yes all 3 things are correct.
he goes down easy because he goes down easy. I cannot believe someone tries to spin that

While we may not respect Shottenheimer, it seems apparent that he is respected by coaches around the league and beyond. It has not taken him long to put together a very nice coaching staff.
most of the best HCs act like corporate CEO's rather than hands on in the dirt type. And their success or failure lies in the staffs they hire.

Deuce is staying. Look at the hire. The Joneses wanna see if their investment can become something more. McCarthy never really used Deuce right . He was big on the vets. Shotty will see if he can make steak dinner out of chopped meat. This hire is great. Problem is, we aren't very good and need free agents.
Come on man, their "investment" in Deuce was a 6th round pick. They make a miniumum of one of those each year, and probably cut the majority of them loose after their first contract, if not sooner. They did not hire anyone thinking "let's see if we can get something out of our 6th round pick investment".

I mean be real, it's not like he was a $100m signing the Cowboys needed to justify.
