I did. You are saying, someone who outright buys a car from a company and drinks/drives, and hurts another person, you should go after the car company.

This makes no sense. Paterno/Sandusky are not random people. The are employed by Penn State at the time of these rapings. These things happened on the grounds on Penn State(some of them).

Perhaps you should put a logical statement together, before you try and be clever.

That statement is completely illogical. That is like saying if you think the person killed by a drunk driver is the innocent one, don't blame the drunk driver, blame the company that created the car used to do the killing.

Me thinks some of you don't read so good.

WAH WAH WAH

you Penn State apologists need more cheese with your WHINE

Dude, you are so wrong so often when you post. Its predictable!

Im no Penn State apologist. I hate them with a passion. I hate them more than I hate Notre Dame. I would be thrilled if they would have been given the death penalty.

That still doesnt change the facts or reality. But then again, you've never been one to let facts or reality stand in the way of making up your mind on anything you post about.

The NCAA is DEFINITELY punishing innocent people here which is completely the wrong thing to do. If they want to punish Penn State, then they need to punish Penn State and not their students and students that were hoping to attend Penn State.

Of course, the NCAA is about as close to the NBA style of running things as you can get. Both are a bunch of **** and practically ruin their sports in how they operate.

Th fact that you consider having to go without a decent football team for a while "punishment" in the context of what has occurred is so appalling that it's difficult to read.

"Victim" may be overstating it a bit, but there is no denying they are paying a price for something they didnt do. However, they did choose PSU so its hard to feel sorry for them.

I think what most here are bothered by is the fact that the NCAA always punishes those who didnt commit the crime far more than they do the guilty parties.

How could the NCAA have punished those responsible without "punishing" those didn't commit the crime?

The NCAA damn sure did not worry about the innocent that were hurt when they gave S.M.U. the death penalty, did they? What the Mustangs were penalized for (alumni payments) was nowhere near as bad as what was happening at Penn State. The truth be told, you will never see the NCAA give a big or successful school (Florida, Miami, Texas) the death penalty no matter what they do. The NCAA will protect them even if it means sacrificing children, just like at Penn State...

Absolutely true.

The fact is that anytime a school gets sanctions it's going to punish innocent people. There is absolutely no way around that other than simply saying "You know what we don't want to hurt the feelings of the students when some innocents are unfortunately caught in this net so we're just going to look the other way and let these things happen."

This doesn't hurt the student body, BTW. They can still go to class and get their grades and degrees like normal. This isn't affected their lives in any earth shattering way.

The only innocent people that are hurt here are the players who didn't have anything to do with any of this but they're being given the oppurtunity, with help and no sitting out involved, to transfer to a school whose not in trouble.

So, again, who exactly is having their day to day life, or their potential future career, screwed over by this?

The lack of conviction against a pedophile, and those who covered it up for YEARS for the monster, in this situation is absolutely alarming.

It was a horrific thing that a handfull of people did at PSU, but every one that was involved is either dead, in jail or facing criminal charges. Those men do not care and are not impacted by what the NCAA did to not only PSU but also a community.

The community has enough to heal from without the NCAA stepping in to try to make themselves look like some kind of white knight and protector of all.
In my mind that committe did not care about anything but acting as a lynch mob.

What they have done is destroy a football program in a small community that depends on it to survive.

State College for those that have been knows what I am talking about, It is a very small town that depends on the income that is generated from the college without it many small businesses will shut down. Many jobs lost. Being such a small community I can only imagine that even the victims themselves will be affected.
Some may say well there is more to life than football and how sad is it to depend on it as your livlihood. Well that is the only thing in the area to earn a living, it is either that or farm and we all know the small farmer can not compete with the big corporate farms.
let me put this in perspective. Think about what you do for a living. lets say you own a nightclub in Texas and the state says Alchol now illegal in the state of Texas because there was a DUI or an alcohol related rape. It would be stupid to punish everone for that, wouldnt it? shouldnt the ones responsible be brought to justice.

And then there is the school itself. The football program pummped so much money into other programs . Those other programs will suffer. I know this may come as a shock to some but most school sports programs lose money. How will some of these programs survive is beyond me.

I think most people just get angry and want someones head . The few that were involved being tried in the courts is not enough for them. They need something more impactfull or maybe they do not think about all that has been hurt and all those that are going to be hurt .

As I had already stated it was horrific and very sad. THe NCAA should have stepped in but to support Penn State and the small community that surrounds the college instead they throw fuel on a fire and walk away.
Pathetic

Good question, but it still doesnt change it.

The NCAA just sets themselves up for criticism all the time.

Very well put. However, the pro NCAA crowd, who tend to be the pro Pope Goodell crowd also, will find fault with what you have posted.
